Minor Problems

The disc I purchased would not load as was indicated in the instructions --and that was a problem, not being much of a techie--I had trouble locating it on my computer. Also, when you ask a question it doesn't indicate how to return to what you were working on when you had a problem.
I feel like sometimes the experts don't understand the problems or questions us non-techies have and don't give all the info we need to make it all work. They should test on someone who isn't very computer literate...

Something unexpected this year.

After downloading the free state product, it continued to loop back to the screen to request the state download.
It looked like I was going to have to go through an excessive wait to get technical help (and it took a while to even find how to request help). I took a flyer on shutting down TT entirely and starting it up again. It then went into the State tax directly.
It's upsetting since nothing like this has ever happened in the 15 years I've been using TurboTax.
What's great about it: As usual, it was smooth and direct in the actual tax work
What's not so great: It had one scary SNAFU going into the State tax prep

Overall really impressed.
What's great about it: Fast and complete, lets you load old tax returns to speed up process.
What's not so great: Had a loading glitch for doing state returns, but just restarted and it worked again.

I was very distressed by a failure for TT to move seamlessly from Federal to State sections. It took me 15 minutes to find the solution for the software's inability to update my CT State tax return data (i.e rebooting the TT application).
This was disappointing, as I loved the product in 2011, for my first usage. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG FOR 2013.

What's great about it: TT is generally intuitive and easy to use, but there are some confusing areas

Very Helpful! Almost Idiot Proof.

Continue to be a big fan. I suffered through Accounting in undergrad and grad school. Make's filing taxes almost idiot proof. Takes time to do all of this, but the methodology makes it pretty simple. Love the audit-odometer at the end. Allows me to file with great confidence.
What's great about it: Bringing forward last year's info., ease of importing from stock brokerage/investment firm houses.
What's not so great: HSAs are a little confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I like the easy guide. And, I like the list of things you've completed. These two views worked well together.
What's great about it: Never had to refer to a tax document
What's not so great: Nothing. I was annoyed by all the personal questions. But, that was what the IRS requires.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This is the third (maybe 4th) year I've used Turbo Tax and it is because it is an easy-to-access, relatively inexpensive product that provides excellent clarity in the instructions. In addition, there is ample opportunity to make the important individual decisions throughout the process. These decisions are usually provided good discussion and guidance.
What's great about it: Ease of Access, clarity of instructions
What's not so great: None
