My 2012 Review

I like Turbo Tax a lot, but every 4th or 5th year my return is a bit more involved. On those years I try to be extra diligent because what I think I should answer isn't necessarily the correct answer. This is when I will be more diligent with the tax forms and instructions. In doing so, I do find that I entered something wrong. A computer is only as good as the individual that is operating it, so it's always good practice to take this approach.
What's great about it: Makes the entire filing process simple
What's not so great: Sometimes its too simple

File the easy way

Its so simple you think everyone would want to be an accountant. We are a typical family with young adults who work and go to college. Turbo Tax works for our joint return
and also for them. We have basic savings. 401s and deductions. So this make life easy.

What's great about it: Step by Step, Easy and Fast
What's not so great: Seems too easy
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax Review

I've been using Turbo Tax for several years and have been happy. No need to even try to keep up with all the changes and new updates yourself. Turbo Tax does all of that for you. From basic to more intense taxes, Turbo Tax has it all there for you in an easy step-by-step guide. I will continue to recomment to friends and family.
What's great about it: Step by step guide allows for confidence you are getting things right.
What's not so great: Would like to be able to efile state for free.

I was out of state when my taxes were due. I purchases Turbo tax deluxe at a retail store. The free state was not included because the state I was in did not have state income taxes. The customer service rep explained this and fixed it for me in no time flat without asking me to many questions or delaying me at all in getting my taxes done. I have used Turbo tax for a few years and liked it, but after this experience I will never even consider using any other tax service or software. Thanks Turbo tax!!
