first time turbo taxer

the thing that calculates your refund/ amount owed as you go freaked me out. It said owed for a long portion of the process and so I delayed finishing my taxes because i was afraid I had to pay. In the end I had a refund same as previous years. Also I was stumped by the opportunity credit which can only be used for 4 years well I had my last 2 tax returns only and wasn't sure how many years I had claimed it (I used to have someone else do my taxes# I spent a lot of wasted time on that because I wasn't even eligible for the credit #grad student). Also I wasted time looking up other stuff I didn't need.
What's great about it: fairly easy
What's not so great: extra 20 to efile state

Hello,
I like that Turotax gets all the info from last year and gives me a chance to see every item I files last year and compare with this year's data. However, I was frustrated to learn that there was no way (using TurboTax Business) to file 3522 form electronically and pay $800 CA tax online , otherwise I would upgrade my TurboTax..
What's great about it: Gathering info from last year
What's not so great: Couldn't file CA 3522 for LLC and pay $800 online

Blessed witha refund!

had trouble completing process at the end. most likely due to high volume but it made us a little nervous.
What's great about it: very detailed and TT walked us through every stepp
What's not so great: new thing is always scarey.. we are use to someone else doining it for us

What's great about it: easy to use, follow instructions
What's not so great: I had a balance due...not really your fault!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

made filling easier

Most of the questions on the interview where fine but at least one was not clear and I missed the entry for union dues, but the fact that the reviews show last year figures and current year highlighted the difference. It was easy to then go back and add the entry.
Even with the above, the interview process was a nice easy way to enter my tax information.
What's great about it: uses last years data, does the math, fills every form
What's not so great: interview initially missed union dues

Solid data entry

I had no problem entering all the necessary data, being sure it was entered in the correct form(s). Now, if it would only pay the taxes, too!
What's great about it: This program is very easy to use, with plenty of reminders about needed information. The final error check is good, too
