On certain forms the help is not much help.
Wikipedia type of help would go a lng way.

first time using capital gains w no 1099

first, phone support was confused.
second, I got spoiled using the Q&A style input so going to Open Forms and linking multiple forms (D, 8949, worksheets) was startlingly different/confusing.
It was remanisent of doing it without TurboTax.

Yes I finally figured it out, but isn't there a better way?
What's great about it: TT was able to handle the task
What's not so great: Opening Forms for Capital Gains reminded me of paper taxes

Easy as 1-2-3

I started using TurboTax 8 years ago. Doing taxes were always confusing and intimidating to me, so I always paid for someone else to do them for me. I always ended up owing money or getting very little as a refund having others doing my taxes. I finally decided to try doing them myself and chose TurboTax and have been receiving big returns ever since. TurboTax walks you through every step of the way in a 1-2-3 manor and makes sure you don't overlook any deductions. I've been doing my own tax returns ever since, and look forward to returns of $5K+. To think, I was happy with a $400 return prior to using TurboTax in the past makes me realize how much I was over spending on taxes without even realizing it.
What's great about it: Thorough, Simple, Best refund, changes as my life changes
What's not so great: Auto W-2 entry confusing.

i have always done it on paper forms and was a little concerned about doing it on the computer but it really was just "follow the bouncing ball". thank you

Turbo Tax gives me confidence that I'm following all the tax rules without me trying to keep updated. The ease of e-filing means that when I'm done it's filed. With all the forms I need, I would be paying a lot more money if I had to pay someone else to prepare my tax returns.
What's great about it: Just load it and follow along.
What's not so great: Too much extraneous stuff that doesn't apply to me.

I love Turbo Tax! I have compared my refund for three years in a row using my tax preparer and Turbo Tax. Each year my circumstances were different, but the outcome of my refund was exactly the same - except for the expense of my tax preparer.
I felt that my world was too complicated to do taxes on my own, but after the side by side comparison, I was confident seeing the results first hand that Turbo Tax has everything covered.
Actually, I think my CPA uses Turbo Tax then charges $$$!
