Pain Free Taxes

I began using Turbo Tax about four years ago after doing my own taxes for many years just using the tax form instructional booklet. Turbo Tax was so much easier because of the step by step instructions and the fact that the calculations were figured for me instead of my having to use charts to determine and calculate various important totals. I use Turbo Tax to file my taxes, my parents' taxes, and also my son's taxes. I would highly recommend Turbo Tax to anyone doing their own taxes.
What's great about it: Filing taxes is very easy to do with Turbo Tax's step by step instructions.
What's not so great: Honestly, no cons. Been using Turbo Tax for years with no problems.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Efficient and Complete

Overall a great way to step through all your tax info. You can see what effects the taxes you own as each amount is entered. Noticing what information is necessary lets you know what to keep track of for next years taxes. There were a couple of questions where there wasn't enough information to know if you this applied to my situation. I had to go looking for more information. Most of this was found with the programs help features, but I did venture to the IRS website once or twice.
What's great about it: Walked through all necessary information. Especially nice with import of last year's taxes.
What's not so great: Not alway enough detail to figure out if you should enter something when asked.

Another solid year

I've been using Turbotax for years, and overall appreciate it greatly. It's not perfect, but it's very good. It saves lots of effort by pulling key data from prior year's returns, which helps a lot.
What's great about it: The walk-through process is thorough but efficient; the information boxes/links have gotten better and better
What's not so great: Still a few things which aren't explained clearly enough, or that seem to point one way, but turn out they don't apply

Having used Turbo Tax for years, I recommend and will continue to use it for personal tax preparation. If you need to choose your first tax program, try this one.
What's great about it: Very user friendly.
What's not so great: Can't copy supporting document lists between filing applicants.

Turbo Tax is like "Filing Taxes for Dummies". I have a difficult time understanding computer language and if I can figure out how to use Turbo Tax everyone else can too!
What's great about it: fill-in blanks by matching #s
What's not so great: itemizing

Steady and Reliable

I like the convenience of TurboTax - I can start my return any time (like in the middle of the night, which is usually when I have time), save it, and finish later. Also, all my information from last year gets automatically filled in for the current year.
For the most part, the explanations are written in plain language, which helps me understand the sometimes complicated items I need to figure out for my home business.
The EasyGuides are especially useful - TurboTax sets up a step-by-step process and then reviews everything at the end.
What's great about it: I like the EasyGuide options. These make the step-by-step process convenient and easy.
What's not so great: During the review when mistakes are found, it would be great to have a comment to explain the item or link to info.

Can't be easier

I've used it for years, but have also tried some other programs. Nothing comes close as far as ease of use, thoroughness and answering questions. Can't imagine why people pay others to do their taxes for them when Turbotax is available.
What's great about it: step by step, easiest tax program around
What's not so great: having to scroll back through several screens to make a correction
