IRA instructions lacking

Your question about how much of your 2013 jan-april contribution were being applied... (paraphrased) was confusing for a first time IRA contributor. I thought it wanted to know if I was making contributions jan-april for the 2012 tax year so I entered our entire amt, but after I went thru the IRA contribution data entry four times, each time coming up with totals that "weren't allowed", then I called my bro for help... that's when he said the Q was worded poorly and referred to 2013 contributions made for the 2013 year... so I needed to put "o" in the box... which then made the numbers come out accepted.
What's great about it: great questions overall
What's not so great: jan-april contribution Q worded poorly
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The questions were very good except for 1098T. Some problems trying to get it figured out.
What's great about it: relatively easy
What's not so great: 1098T not working. . .

State Tax Return

Got through the Federal and State returns, but was unable to file the state because it would not allow me to upload any of the tax returns. Tried to pay on-line for the state tax return, but when I went to pay for it through the auto-pay feature, it locked up the e-filing and I had to force quit the Turbo Tax program. Only when I separated the state return from the Federal return, was I able to get my Federal return to up load without a problem. It was the first time in all the years that I have been using Turbo Tax that a problem like this has happen. Still a good product for filing Federal taxes.
What's great about it: Program was quick and easy
What's not so great: State return hung up the e-filing.

Deductions saved me $1900 in only 6 hours!

I have been using TurboTax since 1999. We have a lot of itemized deductions, many being donated goods. Without ItsDeductible, we were guessing ourselves short by $1000 in deductions. It may be painful to keep itemized descriptive lists of what has been donated throughout the year, but ItsDeductible makes it all worthwhile. The new interface for 2012 Tax Year is much nicer. Seems faster, too.
What's great about it: ItsDeductible is the crown jewel as to why I still use TurboTax
What's not so great: ItsDeductible requires 90% of my time allotted to filing taxes

Got My Money!

As a non-tax expert, I really like how clear the terms and explanations are. The details helped save me time and made the process easier. The ease of use of the program is awesome. Even tho I wasted time trying to import my w-2, I just looked up the paperless w-2 and that worked to. I recommend TurboTax because it gives plenty of options that make it manual for me and gives plenty of convenience in my hectic schedule!!
What's great about it: I like that TurboTax looks for the maximum amount you can receive back. The details that clarify the things.
What's not so great: My import w-2 did not work

I've used Turbo Tax for as long as I can remember and it was easy then and it is much easier now. Great Tax software!!
