As always... easy to use

I like how thorough the sections are laid out but when it came time to get to a specific type of deduction, even though I had placed a flag on it, it did not take me directly to the specific deduction but to the very beginning of that section. The only other thing I would have liked was after e-filing, the page that followed, with the date and time of the e-file along with helpful links to consider, i.e. MyTaxRefund app, I found that I could not print out this page.
What's great about it: I like being guided through all of the different sections of TurboTax.
What's not so great: Couldn't find a way to get to a specific deduction without having to go through all of the preceding deductions.

very easy to use and fun to watch the refund accumulate as you go. Makes it more suspenseful.

No hassle instructions

We noticed the language style was less formal in this 2012 TurboTax Deluxe. It was easy and quick to follow along, and the return was finished with a minimum of stress.
What's great about it: Conversational -style introductions and instructions to each topic
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo tax is the way to go for relatively straight-forward returns. If you own a home, and itemize, TT does a good job at walking you through the process. If you have your own business, you might need to go with the upgraded versions of TT for the right level of support.
What's great about it: a good solution for relatively straight-forward return

Always the Same - Easy!

My husband always used to file his taxes by hand and would receive a call every year from the IRS about his awful tax returns. I have always used TurboTax and did his tax return the first year we started dating. Needless to say he was convinced that either a) I was a wizard or b) TurboTax was worth the price. Even better: this year I had a question about my ESOP and was able to get an answer through the chat service online. Always a pleasant experience with this bunch.
What's great about it: Everything is categorized and explained, program hunts for deductions, even srange ones

I had four 1099 MISC which I entered, then I continued my work and they each disappeared one by one while I added need information.
What's great about it: I don't have to be a CPA to work on my taxes.
What's not so great: It was sometimes difficult to navigate Turbo Tax when I wanted to go and review something.

I rated a 4 only because there were some things I did not understand. More than likely my fault and not Turbo Tax.
