Previous years have been simple and concise. Not so this year. Even when doing something as simple as printing I don't know for sure what I'm going to see. Too much automation. It should say "PRINT FORMS FOR FILING." PERIOD. No nosense about saving in pdf format on your computer or secong guessing what may or may not be printed. If I want two copies I prefer the option gof going back and doing it myself. Your "let'sd do everything for you" approach is disconcerting. Please return to a more direct "let's-assume-the-customer-has-a -brain" approach. This truly is the worst version ever.
What's not so great: Excessively verbose and confusing. You're being way to helpful.

Love tax time thanks to Turbo tax

I like Turbo tax because I've used it for 4 years in a row. It's easy to use and transfers the information over from your previous tax return so you don't have to do as much typing after your first year. Turbo tax walks you through deductions and even catches deductions that would apply to you if you thought they didn't. I also like the e-file feature. I only needed to go to the post office the one year I owed money.
What's great about it: Simple, quick, secure, file with confidence
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Relatively Painless

TurboTax is great and saves me tons of time by transferring last year's data. It is also nice to see comparisons to last year, which helps remind me of what sections I might need to complete.
Fix-It does not allow you to easily get help with what is needed. It shows you the error, but there is no way to see it in context within the rest of the form.
Once you go back into a section to make one edit, you have to answer all the same questions again. It would be nice, if you could jump to one section and jump out.
What's great about it: Easy, step-by-step instructions
What's not so great: hard to navigate when going back to make changes

Good Instruction

Good process, minimizes entry of data since I used Turbo Tax in prior years. Information transferred and was presented for review. Checking and correcting entries took a little more effort than a simple jump to a form for correction.
What's great about it: Step by step review and comparison with prior years improves the reasonableness of entries during the process.
What's not so great: Difficult to revise info requiring steps back through the question and answer process.

TurboTax Federal Returns Deluxe

I wish you had a list of things that I need for my return and how they are divided, especially with medical expenses. For example, it would be easier for me to prepare the information I need, if you had a category list of different types of medical expenses, such as dental, eye, tests, doctor's fees. Since you have them on separate sections, I end up having to figure that out as I enter rather than ahead of time.
Plus for my annuities and IRA, I have fees that I'm charged, but every year I have to figure out how to enter them, because there is no line for them under the investment deduction section.
Otherwise, I think TurboTax has improved a lot in the last few years.
What's great about it: I like the carryover information from previous year.
What's not so great: Some of the deduction explanations are inadequate.
