Rocked My Refund

I have been doing tax returns for 30 years and I'm glad I tried TurboTax! It gives me the confidence I need to complete every return.
What's great about it: User friendly!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. It is getting simpler and simpler! I LOVE that it brings forward information from previous years. I LOVE how it is up-to-date with tax laws!
One year when doing my income tax by hand (pre-TurboTax), I accidentally transposed one number in my daughter's social security number...and did not receive the benefit of having her on my taxes...and had to get it corrected...no more! That's just not going to happen!
I LOVE Turbo-Tax!

Should have better support for foreign accounts, imports don't work all that great.

I would use TURBO TAX again
What's great about it: Easy to follow on most items
What's not so great: Some of the deduction credits needed to be written so that the layman can understand them

Awesome easy filing

I have used turbo tax for many years now. I am always happy with the ease of use and the updates that keep me current with the forms. It walks me through the steps and makes sure that I can easily file online and get my refund fast. Thanks for many happy years of returns Turbo Tax

When your return is simple without any grey areas, TT shines. However, as a married filing separate taxpayer who is physically but not legally separated the community property section was extremely difficult to follow. I still don't know if I got it.

What's not so great: Can be hard to understand for certain sections

OK but cumbersome

While the 2012 version does what its predecessors did, it does so demanding a lot of computer resources; takes awhile to load (obviously the authors know this from their cutesy little phrases which appear while you wait for the product to load and start). Also, this version tended to lock up my computer several times and in general didn't play nice with any MS Office products that might be running. Hate to see what was a great product put on weight like this one and offer nothing better in performance. By the way, I don't understand why TurboTax doesn' include automated worksheet#s# for the mortgage deduction limitation. I built a spreadsheet in about 5 minutes which does it just fine, seems ridiculous to have to work this out offline given some of the other complex stuff TT can do.
What's great about it: Seems thorough
What's not so great: Balky product, slow loading, locks up computer
