Been Using Since the Beginning

I have been using Turbo Tax since its inception. Great product! If you can read and follow directions, you can do your taxes with this product. I especially like how information rolls from year to year. I like the error report. I thought perhaps that I needed to have a CPA do my taxes, so my husband and I went to a CPA several years ago. He looked at our taxes and said to us there was no need for him to do them, since Turbo Tax was doing the job for a whole lot less money.
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Only when you wait till the last minute to do your taxes you might have to wait a bit for uploading

Everything worked well with two exceptions. S Corp name required kept coming up under fix it, and there was no S Corp to file, 2. The date of filing was not accepted, and I tried April 15th and April 14th. I deleted the date and then everything was accepted, or at least indicated was filed.
What's great about it: Ease of operation
What's not so great: two fix it errors which appeared not to be valid. See below

I have used Turbo Tax for at least 10 years. Every year some aspect is changed. I feel last year the interaction was better than this year.
I had a couple instances where "fixs" didn't indicate if it applied to myself or my husband.
The help key did not seem as applicable to the area of the form when I clicked it.
Switching from easy to forms should have landed me at the same place in the process when I wanted to switch back and forth.
What's great about it: Gets me through it.
What's not so great: Instructions lacking detail

Easy to use. System walks you through. The only negative is most people are going to e-file, so they should just build it into the initial cost and not hitting us up at the end. One free state return is part of the cost, so it should include the e-file.
What's great about it: Info transfer year by year
What's not so great: Extra Cost for State E-File

Overall very good. Would like there to be chapters or something so you do not have to go thru so many screens over & over when reviewing or adjusting some amounts. Each time I wanted to change one thing , had to labor through several screens. Maybe have a HEADER screen for each main area so you can go directly to one line item to adjust it.
Mine made me review so many times I lost track & each review went thru so many steps, so maybe have a heading with Review steps 1-10 or something, to be able to go directly to one section. When a person knows a little about taxes, these extra features would make it so much better. Thanks.

Very good--could be better

I've used TurboTax for 10 yrs or so and continue to be generally happy with the product. The utility for accessing data from investment firms did not work for me (UBS specifically), and there was no way to send that feedback to Intuit. After all these years, that is a terrible deficiency. The section on Alternate Minimum Tax also lacks links for background information.
What's great about it: Works fairly well for modest tax complexity and someone not easily intimidated by program navigation.
What's not so great: The program should include a straightforward mechanism for sending specific feedback to Intuit on every screen.

Easy Step by Step worth the process

Step by step easy guide makes it really easy to follow. It takes time but is worth the process, in which I know I get the most possible refund than going to a tax preparation agency whom will not bother going through informing all possible deductions to you.
What's great about it: Step by step easy guide
What's not so great: Lot to review but these are taxes
