Messed up state tax

My Federal tax went through with a breeze. My state tax would not let me efile. It kept sending back to a line that was marked at 0. I tried to delete the 0 thinking that it should be left blank since it would not work with a 0. Every time I went back to delete, the program put the 0 back. Then when I tried to file, it go back to the same page and tell me I had to fix it. Frustrated, I just printed my return and mailed it. I feel like I did not get my money's worth this year. In past years Turbo tax has worked great for me. Not sure if I will buy again next year.
What's great about it: Federal return was easy and worked great
What's not so great: State tax had a glich-had to print out and mail

Can't be beat in terms of price and convenience

TurboTax is practically free when compared to hiring an actual human tax preparer. And it's "easy guide" worksheets truly allow the normal person to understand what kind of info needs to be entered to file taxes. Looking at a tax form is a giant headache and contains language I can't understand. TurboTax translates that language into normal English so non-accountants can understand. I use it every year. I don't plan on ever changing unless I become rich and can afford an actual person or ever get audited and would need to get real, legal advice.
Of course, you get what you pay for. And if you run into any questions or confusion within TurboTax, you will NOT be able to get any help from the TurboTax help/support section. I had to ask several questions and the help function only showed me other people in the "community" also asking those questions, but of course, no answers were provided. I had to just Google my questions instead. Also, if the software finds "errors" in your return at the end, it will show you those errors in the actual tax form(s), but will not show them to you in the "Easy Guide." So I had a couple errors and had NO IDEA what they meant. I couldn't even figure out why certain forms existed in my tax return because they didn't sound like they should even apply to me. And since TurboTax is not a person, I could not ask that question and find out so I just had to go w/ my gut and guess what changes needed to be made. Also, I noticed that TurboTax will generate forms in your return even if they are blank. I might "start" a section in the Easy Guide and learn that it doesn't apply to me, but TurboTax still creates the forms in my final tax document.
Despite the technical glitches/issues that occur, I still use TurboTax every year. I don't know if I get the highest possible refund, but I get a high enough refund that satisfies me enough where I'm not going to go spend the money on an actual tax preparer.
What's great about it: Affordable, easy, convenient, do-it-yourself
What's not so great: Poor help/support functions, some ways the software "thinks" aren't logical

Windows 8 vs. Turbo Tax

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 3 years with no problems. The program is fast & easy to use. With the added advantage of using information from my 2011 tax returns the filing for 2012 was that much faster!!
Only problem it took 3 days to get program installed on my new laptop which runs Window 8!! Found a website that had thread discussing many Turbo Tax customers having the same issue. There was even a link to download additional files to correct problem I tried the link & after several attempts gave up, planning to call customer service on Monday. I decided to reinstall program for a 3rd time Sunday afternoon & it worked! Just e-filed my taxes & I'm happy with the results, despite the annoying delay
Will I continue to use Turbo Tax? Yes, while a little put off by the Window 8 & Turbo Tax conflict, the program ran beautifully as it did in the previous years. I'll just warn friends if they have Turbo Tax & Windows 8 it may take some patience.

Very easy to use and doesn't miss a step! Completed my taxes in an hour and a half and thats not with a EZ form!
