Easy to step through

Steps you through the necessary steps and asks you plenty of questions to get the necessary information entered. I still questions about where certain information should go. Some of the extra information helped, but some things are still not entirely clear. Not sure if this is the software or the tax code. All in all, worked very well for my taxes.
What's great about it: Walks you through all the necessary step with extra info as needed
What's not so great: Going back to the Fed return and updating after starting the state, not sure if the changes were carried through

I have nothing but praise for your guidance in filling out the Federal tax forms. On the other hand, I pay just as much for the state help (including the extra charge for downloading it and also for the e-filing) but it is very poor by comparison. I wish you did a better job explaining how I'm supposed to answer your state tax questions.
What's great about it: Federal Tax help is presented very well
What's not so great: State tax (Ohio) help is very poor

Getting better

It's true, turbo tax is getting better, but it can still improve. As mentioned with the cons, you can't go back to do a quick review when prior entries are not there. Also when trying to remove errors, it's not easy for someone who is not working on this program all the time.
What's great about it: Stock sales and purchases are easily downloaded
What's not so great: When going back to review a section, prior entries are not saved

Excellent experience year after year

I've used TurboTax since it was on floppies and I can always count on its accuracy. Importing last year's personal info and not having to retype many entries is great. I also use Its Deductible online with it.
CA has not let me efile for the last 2 years. i'm not sure why, but TurboTax allows me to print out the exact forms needed for my state including the copy of the federal and provides the mailing address and all the instructions I need.
A friend who had used TurboTax for a few years also went to a regular tax preparer to check the difference and she got more back with TurboTax.
I can't see any reason to try any other program.

Another Smooth Return

TurboTax Deluxe has made this tax season rather painless, again. The online imports from my investment company was very helpful.
A feature that I would be interested in would be and slider bar for certain fields. The slider bar would change the numeric value of a field within the fields approprate range. Stopping the slider bar would update the Federal or State refund value.
I appreciate the consistant and predictable user interface from year to year.
What's great about it: The comparison between the current and previous years returns
What's not so great: Navigation between Easy and Worksheet

Even we two tech-challenged seniors aced it!

We are two "over 70" seniors who are technologically challenged, even our Smart phones are smarter than we are! Turbo Tax is easy to follow and error free. We've been using it for years and love it! Would recommend to anyone.
What's great about it: Smooth transitions from worksheet to worksheet.
What's not so great: None
