tax time is stressful, especially when you are unfamiliar with tax laws. Turbo Tax has been easy and fast to use - I've used it for years. Any question is usually answered in the forum or in the help pages.
What's great about it: step by step instructions
What's not so great: i always owe (no fault of Turbo tax)

I waited until the last minute to prepare tax returns for 3 people and was able to do all three in just a couple of hours.
What's great about it: TurboTax is so easy to use!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I trade options and I found the answers to this difficult to follow.
I also believe it gave me an incorrect answer to a question about alimony.
What's great about it: It led me through a lot of questions
What's not so great: It couldn't handle a couple of easy situations.

I like the way you can go back and forth and try filling out forms to see how it affects the tax. Can go backward and undo forms if not desirable to use.
What's great about it: Very thorough guide with easy questions

After All of These Years!!

I have been using TurboTax for at least 25 years now, and wouldn't use any other program, and certainly not pay someone $100's of dollars, when they make it so easy!! You just follow along, step by step, and in no time you're finished. It even checks and rechecks for errors and anything that might cause an audit!! A lot of people think it is only for people whose taxes are very simple, or who don't itemize, but that is just not the case!! I retired in 2012, and that really threw me some tax curves, but TurboTax handled them like a champ!! Thank you, and see you next year!!!
What's great about it: Not only does TurboTax get it done, but if something unusual comes up, you call (even on 4/14 at 11 pm!!), & it's fixed!
What's not so great: If they could just install a nagger to keep me from waiting until the last minute!! It's perfect!!

I have been using TurboTax since 2006 and just love it. I used to spend hours trying to figure out which deductions and business expenses I could take. TurboTax has made my job much easier with it's easy to follow wizards and tips. I am confident that my returns are accurate, and that I am taking full advantage of all my deductions. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has spent the torturous hours/days, trying to wade through their tax preparation. TurboTax has been a blessing! Thanks for this great product.
What's great about it: Easy to use and understand!

The home and education topics were very confusing. Years previously you had a video on the side that you could listen to now the help button isn't as helpful. I had to contact a tax professional about a couple issues and almost used them also for a 2nd opinion before filing. I've been using Turbo tax for many years without so much confusion and I'll be thinking twice before purchasing next years.
What's great about it: Free EFILE
