Great software!!!

I've been a software developer for close to 20 years so I know what goes into a production like this. I can tell that a lot of time and effort went into this product and it's good to see that a few companies like Intuit still spend the time needed to produce quality.
Good job Intuit!
What's great about it: Very easy to use, well designed, no bugs (that I could see)
What's not so great: paying taxes in general :)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Turbo tax has a great walk through, it makes sure you enter everything, and get all the discounts too!
What's great about it: I love the walk through, TurboTax makes doing taxes so easy

About as painless as possible with current tax code which needs to be reformed to include more payers and less time to complete.
It is ridiculous to have to spend so much time just to know how big to write the check to IRS

What's not so great: requires too much time with cumbersome IRS regulations simplify tax code

The program should start by asking you to have several documents ready for review before entering the data.
Ex: previous year's data, 529 plans
Too many interruptions in filling out the forms since I had to repeatedly retrieve documents I stored away last year. A checklist will speed up the process.
What's great about it: Like the pop up boxes with additional info.
What's not so great: The font was too small.

Had to download a patch from support to get TurboTax to open a return on Windows 8. Even then, TT hung up several times and required a reboot. File "Save As" never worked. "Save As" is a pretty basic function - regression testing and quality assurance were poor this year. If the app is this buggy again next year I will ditch it.

Been using TurboTax for years

I have used TurboTax for at least 8 years. When I first started using it I had some trouble with my filing status as a clergy member, but the past 6 years or so, they have covered all those bases as well. Easy to follow and complete, the auto-fill feature for those who have past returns on their computer saves a lot of time.
What's great about it: Easy step-by-step interview process to cover all the bases
What's not so great: Really don't have any cons the past few years

tax return the easy way

works just like having an interview with a tax person except since you are at home it is easy to check and get your supporting documentation. Keeps you from having to go back to the tax person with your receipts or other documents. Help is on line and easy to get and from the tax code plus other sources so u know the info is good.
If you don't like to enter your data and want to talk to some one to feel better about paying taxes this might not be for you.
I have been a user for a number of years and had simple to complex returns and this is the least painful way to get it done.

overall great layout. hard to screwup and easy enough to understand .
