We love using turbo tax with the item calculations for donations. This product is awesome and we love using it every year for our filing calculations. Wouldn't dream of using any other software but Turbo Tax for our tax filings.
What's great about it: ease of use especially with several years... keeps information so you don't have to continue to re-enter each year
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Smooth and Easy

TurboTax 2012 offers the next best thing to an income tax consultant at your shoulder. Barring circumstances in which one has an extremely complex tax situation, TurboTax offers the layman a straightforward means for preparing and submitting one's annual tribute to Uncle Sam. With the exception of a flat tax, TurboTax is the way to go.
What's great about it: Straightforward

Turbotax is easy to use, with all of the required forms for personal taxes. It still is very Mac aware. I cannot load it using an admin account had have a non-admin use the program
What's great about it: All the forms I needed are available and kept up to date
What's not so great: Still do not know how install in one account to be used by another account on a Mac

Simple and Easy the way I like it

Turbo Tax makes it very convenient for taxpayers to do straight forward tax filing. It is really simple to do and taxpayers can file their taxes on their own time instead of being held hostaged by high-end tax accountants...having to meet their schedules.
What's great about it: Simple to understand and only took two hours to do my federal and two states
What's not so great: Can't follow the math (this is also a pro)

Good software, can be better, YES!

I have used TurboTax for the last five years. All previous years I was single with a salary, home, mortgage, etc. Very simple return, for which TurboTax works fine. When things start to get more complicated, married now, I wanted to compare how much would be the difference by filing jointly vs. filing separately, I started to run into areas where there was not enough information about what to include on certain questions. I know tax law and jargon is complicated, but that is why I bought the software, to explain it to me in simpler terms, with examples, but that was not the case. I run into a few areas where I felt I did not get my money worth. I might test another software next year, just to be sure TurboTax is or is not the best choice.
What's great about it: E-filing makes life so much easy, even when you owe money to IRS
What's not so great: Not enough examples!

Glad I used turbotax

I used Turbortax in 2011 and Got rejected three times. I gave up and did not file my taxes. This year 2012 the Turbotax system was easier with less hassel and a sure thing for 2013.
What's great about it: It was all good.
What's not so great: Easier than in past years.

I have always found that your tax program has been easy to use and understand and that it walks you through each step looking for the most deductions possible
