Awesome Software

I have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years and am always happy with the returns.
What's great about it: Easy to use and gets easier every year
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Makes it Easy to File

Makes the process of filing long form painless and straightforward.
What's great about it: I really like the "check the return" feature and how it spotlights errors. Makes it very easy to correct.
What's not so great: Nothing I can think of.

I have used TurboTax for years and found it to be excellent in going through the process...I have somewhat of an advantage as I do have familiarity with doing taxes etc. However, I was totally frustrated with going through the e-filing process as it said my fed returned was e-filed but then would not do my state e-filing...it could not save the return. it took me over 25 minutes to get through this before I was finally able to get the e-filing done. Then the final bit of info stated the state return was e-filed but said nothing as to the fed return so I am concerned as to whether that really went through. Obviously, this has put a negative spin on this year's working with TurboTax....
What's great about it: The process appeared detailed & thorough & somewhat easy to follow
What's not so great: Doing the e-filing...I am not sure that the Fed return was e-filed & took over 45 minutes to do the state e-filing.

Best Job Done

I have used Turbo Tax for 10+ years. The hardest part of doing my taxes is gathering all the information. Why pay someone hundreds of dollars, when you still have to supply the information. Filling out the forms are easy with Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: One explanation was not clear.

I would be very lost without Turbo Tax. They ask me to think about items for deductions, etc., that I am sure I would never think about if I took my taxes to an accountant.
What's great about it: Step-by-step hand holding
What's not so great: Doesn't collect my paperwork for me

easier every year

it seems like the review has taken longer this year than in past years. I had to make three minor corrections, then proceeded to validate my review, enter my bank routing number, everything was proceeding fine, but than i was told of another error, a minor street name missing from my W2

Taxes for Dummies!

Overall, I was very pleased with the simple process involved. I am not a finance kind of person, so I need all the help I can get with completing our taxes. We don't have a complicated situation, so use of tax software has been our saving grace (don't want to pay tax professional to do this). Only downside as follows: the past few years I've used turbotax online with much ease. I purchased the software online this year because it was less expensive. I made an incorrect assumption that information from Turbotax online that was entered in prior years would be able to be imported. This would be a nice feature!
What's great about it: extremely simple and intuitive
What's not so great: Not much... however, unable to import information from Turbotax Online return from 2011

Quick, Complete, Informative

Made the best of an otherwise awful experience and helped me learn along the way as I plan for next year. Super informative where I choose for it to be and slick where I don't. love the interface and keep coming back!
What's great about it: Ability to move step-by-step or "jump around", links to publications and help, easy breesy to follow!
What's not so great: It's about TAXES! excessive fees for refunds, e-file state, and paying with a credit card.
