The Day Before

Turbo Tax made filing easy, just like every other year. The only complaint was that the Flags feature didn't take me back to that actual page. It returned to the end of that section.
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Going back was harder than expected

I have used Turbotax for over 5 years now, and I can easily say that I am always impressed with how quickly I can get the taxes done every year. Although nobody likes doing taxes (which is why a lot of people overpay to send them to an outside service to do it for them), when I finally drag myself to the computer to sit down and get it done, I am quickly reminded how it isn't a burden with this program. It inputs my info from the previous years, it inputs the electronic W-2 info for me, and it takes me through all of the possible ways to get more money back!
In fact, when my husband started as a self-employed contractor, I dreaded what this was going to do to the tax-filing process. No sweat with Turbotax--it took me through the process step-by-step, and it barely added ten-minutes of additional work to the whole return. I also appreciate the fact that I can begin entering information when I get the first W-2, and then I can come back when everything else arrives in the mail. It just picks up where we left off.
I will never consider paying someone more than what I pay for the Turbotax software every year. It just doesn't make sense when it is really so easy to do!
What's great about it: Really easy--like, too easy.
What's not so great: Not interested in the additional support

easy going

Liked most of the program until it starts sending you back after you try to file. The directions at this point are not applicable to circumstances - like wanting banking information after we noted we wanted returns sent by mail and wanting w2 information after being told we are retired and have no further outside jobs. Expect extremely long waits at the help line unless you do your taxes very early! This was our 1st year using this, next should go a little easier now that we know the bug a boos. All in all it is still easier than the government form and helps to keep you from forgetting something you should be filing. Also has a nice feature which tells you your risk of being audited. The flow is very easy until the very end. It generally tells you right away if you miss something on a page.
What's great about it: easy to use and understand, quick fill in
What's not so great: until you get to filing then they send you back to an area that doesn't apply and won't let you out.

Turbo tax is easy to use and assures with checks, on the filp side the cost is more compared to other complarable alternatives.

Turbo tax is an awesome software program! It is inexpensive and easy to use. I feel confident that I am using all of the deductions that are possible to reduce my tax total. I highly recommend the program.
