Have used Turbo Tax many years to complete both my tax return as well as my mother's return. Usually only takes a couple of hours per return if paperwork is organized.
What's great about it: Fairly Quick and Efficient
What's not so great: Sometimes need better explanation on line itmes in interview process

Taxes Made easy

Turbotax is easy, but helps you realize your assets and financial categories to know your situation better. If you like detail of your own financial situation and where everything is then this exercise is for you!
What's great about it: Orderly flow of sections without causing a lost feeling
What's not so great: Sometimes hard to fit your exception explanations

Easy and accurate

This package is extremely intuitive and detailed. I particularly appreciated the manner in which it corrects or prompts the user to either acknowledge the entry or go back and correct any mistake.

Tax Honcho says TurboTax is Tops

As a Retired IRS Agent, I've been using Turbo Tax for over 20 years, since long before I retired. Most of my fellow Agents used it as well, as it was much better and easier to use than any of the official IRS software.
Through the years TurboTax has only gotten better. In the latest years, the "Easy-Step" guided portion has gotten significantly more efficient and easier to use, and it's very easy to switch between the "forms" and "guided" portions.
The latest year has also seen an improvement in the NY State program. It is now a close match to the Federal program.
What's great about it: Easy to Use, Much Improved Navigation.
What's not so great: None that I can think of.

Not sure why I buy it every year since it seems to be available in several venues for free.
What's great about it: Prior year entries appear for cross checking and personal detail review
What's not so great: Some field editing is difficult and requires direct form modificaiton.

Turbo tax makes filing taxes easy, takes all the guess work out and does almost too many checks, but thank goodness it did
