TTAX - Mostly Honey with A Few Lemon Drops

I breezed through the 2012 input for federal & NYS returns with no errors and no missing info. Passed both checks/audits - wonderful.
The estimated tax (both Fed & NYS) was a different story. Some how I missed the expected federal withholding for a 2013 IRA which I realized when I checked a printout of the worksheet. Knowing what to fix was easy but backtracking in the program was not - just not intuitive so it took an inordinate block of time to fix it.
A second problem occurred in the NYS estimated tax section. TTAX correctly showed that I will owe $242.00 beyond withholdings but said I will not owe any quarterly estimated tax progress payments. Once again it took time to learn that my est tax was below some threshhold so no payments were required before April 15, 2014. Eventually< I found the option to override the default and pay quarterly.

What's great about it: Input for estimated Fed & State taxes now includes more flexibity than past years.
What's not so great: First pass through NYS est tax said I owed none - wrong.

Turbo Tax is extremely logical and easy to use! I would recommend it to anyone, regardless of how easy or complicated your taxes are.

I have been using Turbpo Tax for a good number of years, now. I have found it to be both efficient and accurate and I have recommended it to many of my family and friends. You actually think someone is looking over your shoulder to ensure you haven't forgotten something that may ease your tax burden.

My Review Process Was Easy

I really liked my TurboTax experience. It is easy to use and very informative. I found myself learning about the Tax process as I went. I just wished TurboTax could help you with more complex tax issues like being the victim of theft or investment fraud. I will probably need some tax help for that and I would have preferred if Turbo Tax could have helped me with that.
What's great about it: It is really easy to navigate TurboTax
What's not so great: I wish that it was able to help you with more complex Tax issues
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

This year's Turbo Tax was exceptionally easy to use. This year's version didn't have all the gimmicks and the junk in past years. Five Stars

Frustrating program

This program was not user friendly and it did not operate as well as it should have. The summary pages had incorrect information which needed to be viewed on the actual form to see the correct value and in one instance I had to compute the value myself and enter it in as the program performed some crazy math and doubled my deduction.
What's not so great: Program has bugs. Expensive and charges for every feature.
