A little disappointed

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years to do my taxes. This is the first year that I have been frustrated with the way that things flowed together. I had a lot of problems getting numbers entered into what seemed to be the right place and understand the process. I hope everything is correct.
What's not so great: Didn't seem to flow as well this year

bought state with intention to efile at no additional cost. must not have read the fine print, not worth the extra cost. Learned my lesson, will be using basic from this point on....
What's great about it: good step by step instructions, easy to follow and solid help topics
What's not so great: state tool benefit was not worth the extra cost beyond basic version
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Great for Procrastinators

I've been using Turbo Tax for at least 10 years and refuse to use any other methods of tax preparation. Unfortunately, I am a procrastinator when it comes to filing the taxes - I don't know why - when using Turbo Tax it is simple and quick. As a busy, working mom - I don't have time to research the new tax laws, therefore, I rely on Turbo Tax to assist with the new tax laws and help with any questions regarding new scenarios year over year. My tax preparation is somewhat complicated if I were to file the 'old-fashioned' way - as both my husband and I are employed outside of the home, and he also has a business he runs out of the home, we have two properties and I am paying my school loans from graduate school. With Turbo Tax, I am able to simply file my taxes without issues. Turbo Tax chooses the proper forms and provides the necessary information regarding potential risks for audits.

What's great about it: Quick, easy, accurate and great for busy, working baseball moms!!
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Feel Like an Expert

State program asked questions causing me uncertainty regarding whether the info transferred correctly from federal.
What's great about it: Federal program leaves me feeling very confident in my return
What's not so great: State program doesn't leave me with same confidence as federal program

Ease of Use

Time of questions in relation to ongoing refund status cab be a problem. When completing a return with head of household, system did not allow the input. Only after reviewing from the beginning was the update allowed.
What's great about it: Simple returns are quick and straight forward
What's not so great: More complex returns that require moving back and forth are more of a challenge

I'm A Turbo "Tax Expert"!!

I do not mind waiting for the updates when I owe my least favorite charity money! However, when I am actually getting money back, which wont happen aymore because my kids are all grown up and moved out, I did not like to wait for all of the updates in order to make sure my taxes were done right the first time.
I am divorced now, but up until than I owned a house and had several dependents.

Time for Home Improvements!

Each year I think it gets easier to do my taxes. Steps you through everything and makes it easy to enter only relevent tax information. Very quick and easy to file. Highly recommend Turbotax for those who pay big bucks to have it done!
What's great about it: Quick, easy to do and love how info is transfered from previous year and imported
What's not so great: none
