I have been using turbo tax for years and it is pretty easy to understand.
What's great about it: available any time, reguardless of the hour, you feel like working on taxes
What's not so great: none really.

TurboTax 2012 Edition

In general, I find TurboTax very easy to use. The step by step process to walk you through each area of income and deduction helps you feel comfortable that you are given the opportunity to view every aspect of the return. The e-filing is quick and easy - I love that I don't have to mail in my return anymore.
I did have difficulty with the investments section of the software, which is really cumbersome if you are not able to download the data from your brokerage. Even though I could easily log onto the account directly, TurboTax was not able to connect or download the data, even though the same logon criteria are provided.
What's great about it: Step by step processes to cover each area
What's not so great: TurboTax couldn't find my investment info to download.

I've used Turbo Tax for many years and have had very good success filing my taxes and following the instructions. In all the years I have used TT I have never (knock on wood) ever been subjected to being audited. I'm concerned this year due to the fact that I live in California a community property state. I am married, have not lived with spouse all of 2012 and letting the spouse claim 100% of the community property. TT wasn't really able to answer my questions in the forum regarding my situation. So I'm praying that all goes well.

I hate filing my own taxes, but it's most economical. Thankfully, Turbo Tax makes it simple and easy so I don't have to stress.

Once again Turbo tax proves how easy it is to use. I switched to turbo tax about 5 years ago after my Tax preparer got me into a multi-year audit. His entire agency was targeted by the IRS. After that I entered my previous info into turbo tax and saw that I was getting the same results with turbo tax that I had been paying him hundreds of dollars a year for. Thanks again Turbo Tax
