Easy to use

I appreciate how user-friendly TurboTax is -- it gives me confidence when filling out my own taxes, and gives me peace of mind that I'm doing them correctly.
What's great about it: Easy to use, user-friendly, gives peace of mind

Fantastic Tool

I made a mistake in Income and began to report sale of stocks instead of an IRA distribution. I tried to change the entry and/or to delete it, but I was unsuccessful. Every time I reviewed my return, I was directed to fill in the blanks on the worksheet. Your "help" and Q & A pages were of no use. Couldn't you make it easier to correct mistakes?
Additionally, when going through your various steps, there is no shortcut to go to the top or the bottom of a page. For example, in going through the 10 "Income" sections, each time it was necessary to scroll down with my mouse. Very time consuming and annoying.

Very easy to use. Many helpful facts and advices. I've used Turbo-Tax for 8 consecutive years and can think of going back to doing my taxes manually again!

Sheer Filing Simplicity

What used to take days to gather all forms and file by hand, now takes just a few hours with Turbo Tax. Even redemption of mutual funds and calculations of non-monetary donations are done with ease with the simple to follow guidance. I still owed money but I was able to calculate the balance due without "taxing my brain" along with taxing my income. Bravo, Turbo Tax!

everything great .. but 1 minor

I program systems my, this is a excellent system ....but when I tried to fixed spouse birth date on transmit it acceptted change at bottom of screen, but still lopped on each attempt. I had to get out and go back to profile to change BD ..then go back to transmit screen ... minor fix, pain due to time to figure out where error / fix had to be ....
8th year using TURBO, many more to come ....
What's great about it: easy to use / fast
What's not so great: last sec fix of spouse birthdate .. try current screen, no way looped

Turbo Tax helped me handle unusual tax situation

We received a disspersement from the retirement account of a relative that passed away this past year. I was not sure how to handle it. But Turbo Tax made it easy. The form that I received from the Insurance company was covered under the income section in Turbo Tax. I plugged in the information from the form and Turbo Tax handled the rest.
What's great about it: Love that previous year info imports to this years return, saves me a lot of time

It should be much easier option to file state separate return. Example:
Federal return - filing jointly
State - I would like to file state return separately. It is very complicated explanation how to do it. It should be an option to file it different way as Federal tax return has.
This way turboTax will transfer only one person info to the state tax return.
I hope you will implement this option, because a lot of people are looking for this, especially if one person working in one state and another person working in the different state.

Too many numbers, too little time

In The Maltese Falcon, Sydney Greenstreet's character makes a comment to Humphrey Bogart that the best goodbyes are the shortest. That philosophy can also be applied to tax time. File and get it over with. Let technology do the work then move on. This is not your father's tax preparation scenario-this is TurboTax. For the twenty first century. I personally have been using it for as far back as I can remember and never once had a second thought about the accuracy of the returns. Data in, results out. Superbly written code, intuitive and complete. It compliments my thinking and my lifestyle.
What's great about it: Hassle, headache-free, trustworthy and complete
What's not so great: None to speak of...
