They like to take your money

When you buy the program you might think you are done paying. Not so, there is an extra fee for a second state, then a fee to e file in that state, and then there is a fee to e file in the state that's included in purchase. They will ask you for another fee for audit protection? and another to pay them the fees for these services from your tax refund. It really adds up. Good for them(you can never collect enough money) not so good for you.
What's great about it: Fast and EZ
What's not so great: There is an extra fee for everything.

Good with flaws

It doesn't take the place of a skilled professional, but who wants to spend money on that?
One problem is that my bank and investment firms give instructions like, "put this figure on line XX of your return" and turbotax does not use those references. It can be difficult to know if the right information is going into the right places.
What's great about it: relatively easy to use, been using it for years and have found no reason to change
What's not so great: Less than clear in some areas
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

Getting Better Every Year

Turbo Tax continues to get better. I did not have to amend a return this year (like 2011). Amending a return in 2011 was very painful.
What's great about it: User interface was the best I've seen
What's not so great: Stil takes time to do the return accurately - must be patient

Glad I went through twice

I've used Turbo Tx for the 3rd or 4th year in a row. I am not a Quicken user but though it was superior to H&R Block's software.
I'm glad I went through the return again this year because it did not pick up that I had missed entering my local tax on one W-2. It had last years to compare to and I am surprised that the blank entry was undetected.
What's great about it: Process is simplified
What's not so great: missed something that should have been noticed

Great product

This is a great product that has improved each year I've used it (4). With combined income near 200K, I've been frustrated to go through an entire section of deductions, only to find out I'm ineligible due to income. With an "upfront" notice, I could have decided whether it was worth all the time / effort. Such as... "Your AGI greater than 120K - will not qualify for any deductions" or -" will only allow deductions if total expenditure is greater than..."
What's great about it: Easy to follow, seemed very thorough
What's not so great: No upfront warnings of deductions limitations

I have been using Turbo Tax for years, too many to remember and have always been satisifed with the product. I like the consistency of the format of the product and the ease of use. I used to do personal and corporate returns while working for a CPA firm. This program certainly alleviates having to research tax laws. I have recommended this program to several others who are looking to do their taxes on their own.
