I HAVE USED TURBOTAX OVER THE PAST DECADE AND WAIT TO THE LAST FEW DAYS TO FILE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE SOFTWARE.
FILING ELECTRONICALLY HAS ELIMINATED THE RUSH TO THE POST OFFICE ON THE 15TH.
INTRODUCED MY ADULT SON TO TURBOTAX LAST YEAR. HE HAD BEEN PAYING A TAX PREPARER TO DO HIS TAXES. NOW HE IS A TURBOTAX CONVERT.
What's great about it: EASY, QUICK AND ACCURATE
What's not so great: NONE

Years and years of taxes through Turbotax!

I have used Turbotax for so many years that I can't remember so I do not have to stay familiar with all the new tax laws and I do not have to trust someone else to do my taxes. I trust Turbotax far more than a local tax person that can not possibly know all the laws. Turbotax has a staff of many experts writing their software. Each year I notice it is easier and easier instead of becoming more complicated like our Internal Revenue Service. I can keep my information private, file electronically and feel confident that everything is correct!
What's great about it: Sooooo easy and saves money!!!
What's not so great: I couldn't see the forms in the online version.

Turbotax continues to impress

I have used Quicken and TurboTax for years and the combination gives me a quick, easy, reliable process for handling that once-a-year burden. Doesn't make paying the taxes less painless, but allows me to get it over with confidently and quickly.
What's great about it: Easy to use, with plenty of help to ensure accuracy and completeness.
What's not so great: None

hard time with state BUT saved by GREAT chat pro

could not get state to load. had 78 minutes surfing while waiting in chat line. informed status in line every two minutes (like this) lawerence18 helped me. great directions. clear and step by step. once online with chat less than 5 minutes to fix. THANK YOU. Frustration GONE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet Another Turbo Tax Year

I've used Turbo Tax since the mid '80s. My return isn't overly complicated but must be itemized. I like that I get asked all the questions in a straight forward format and in just a couple of hours, it's completed and filed. One of the finest software applications ever.
What's great about it: These are the very same questions asked by Tax professionals as they complete my return.
What's not so great: State e-Filing should be free as well.

Always reliable

I have been using Turbotax since 2005 and it has been always reliable. Having to transcribe to PDF 1040NR has always been a pain however.
What's great about it: Claims most deductions automatically
What's not so great: No form 1040NR
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
