TurboTax is easy to use, saves prior year info, prompts for information. I like the audit rating which gives additional assurance you've done it right! Recommend to everyone I know.

Good To Go

We've used TurboTax for some time. We've been pleased with its ease-of-use and the many improvements Intuit has made over the years. In particular, the explanations of tax law arcana are helpful.
I have a suggestion regarding error correction. During the Error Checking process this year a line item dealing with mutual funds was found to be blank. The omission was illustrated but there was no indication of how to make the correction. After some head scratching I opened the form and made the entry there. It would be helpful to include an explanation of how to make corrections as part of the error detection procedure.
Thanks for making an excellent product.
What's great about it: Thorough and easy to use.
What's not so great: Short on explanation and direction when correcting errors.

Mileage is awkward

Mileage - Once entered, the trips and miles are not summarized and shown on the charity's deductions summary page, plus you cannot show total mileage for a period of time without having recurring trips of exactly the same miles - very impractical, when there are a lot of trips of different lengths
Sort - The list of charities does not remember the sort preference, which requires re-sorting every time to put them in alphabetical order
What's great about it: Overall well organized and efficient
What's not so great: Once mileage is entered, it only shows the calculated dollars

Quick Download Easy to Understand

Dreaded beginning my taxes this year and put it off, afraid that it would take long to download to my old computer, so I could actually get it done. To my surprise and thankful heart-two hours later returns are efiled and printed and done.
Fourth year using Turbo and was exceptionally pleased at the speed upgrade and connections.
What's great about it: Clear and Concise
What's not so great: Sometimes wonder about security and downloading

Turbo Tax is Good but Could Be Better

I have used Turbo Tax for about 10 years. In some ways is has improved over those 10 years, but in some ways it has gone backwards. I have a farming operation. Entering the schedule F information has become somewhat trying at times. For example, to enter breeding animals for depreciation purposes one has to go into the forms section and manually enter O- Other. If you don't the recovery period will be wrong. Also, a lot of times as I go along I will skip some parts of the schedule because I don't have all of the information. Getting back to that part of the schedule F becomes a bit annoying. You have to go to the start and wind your way through all of the sections just to get back to the section you need. Also this year I had a problem with the a portion of the program and with no clear solution on how to fix it except delete the problem and start again.
I do appreciate the ease of the use of the program and I have recommended this to other agricultural producers and non ag producers as well. I have shown several people how to use the program for their own use with little effort. But I wish Intuit would do something about the schedule F problems. Because it is difficult to explain how to do some portions of that schedule.
What's great about it: Fairly easy to use, inexpensive software, easy tax returns are no problem
What's not so great: navigation can become difficult, the help is of little use at times

great product, I have used for years, except when we had major medical issues involving trave, etc when we used a tax person

What's not so great: could have used better help when asking questions some of the answered questions were not helopful
