Have used it for years

I have used TurboTax for several years, and I really don't think I would switch to any other method. The software walks you through the entire process, explaining where to find your information and helping you get answers to any questions along the way. TurboTax has even helped me find out about deductions that I didn't even know I could take!
In addition, there are a few different versions for whatever your needs may be (i.e. just a very basic return all the way to owning your own business) so I think almost everyone should be able to find the right product for their personal tax returns. And now that "State" is bundled in it for the same cost, that's another bonus.
Bottom line: Use TurboTax!

The only problem was when choosing the state return (California) - I would choose 'start' - it would check for updates - say 'up to date' then bring me back to the same screen - it never started the state tax return - could not get the state return to start. I had to manually save the file/return, then exit TurboTax, then restart the program - then the state return started and I completed the return.

I was asked for the total state and local sales tax rate, but TurboTax did not give me any information to find the answer. The search feature did not have anything that was close to what was needed. Was able to find a link in the software to my local state tax department, but the page that I was sent to was the Contact Us page on the site. How is that helpful to anyone?
What's not so great: Federal review came up with one error, but TurboTax did not give any answers.

lots of issues this year

This is the first year I had a lot of issues with the program, and from looking at the "community" so did many others. I luckily also did not fall for the add on costs that seem to be increased every year, and seem more "necessary" in their sell job. In the long run, still very happy with the outcome and how it all worked out, but if I had not read others' problems, I would maybe have given up. Luckily, I did and it all worked out. Hope next year goes easier
What's great about it: still worked in the long run
What's not so great: lots of glitches; if I had not read others' issues with state returns, pop ups for extra costs,

Bye Bye H & R Block!

Now I know what I am entitled. Last year deduction with a tax center was very disappointing. Felt like I was rushed and my return was the lowest I have ever received.
Not anymore because I am sold with Turbo Tax! This software went to every measure to seek the best deductions and return! Great tool.
What's great about it: Best refund ever
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

So Easy To Use

I have been using Turbo Tax for years to prepare my taxes. Each year the program gets better and easier to use. I especially like the It's Deductible import feature.

Do it yourself

Worth the money and time to use TurboTax. Very easy to use with seamless prompts. Covers everything you need and then some. I have been using for years and have always gotten back the max refund.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
What's not so great: Live support questions don't work, no answers to alot of them

Still dreams up phantom forms you can't delete

Once TurboTax thinks you have a stray dependent it will never let you delete it. You end up having to fill in "null" info for this "person." Very hazardous.
