Seamless, Easy

Have used TurboTax for years, it seems to get easier every year, I'm proud to do my taxes on my own, avoiding large fees and making sure they are done correctly.
What's great about it: Low Cost, Self Paced, Reminders about all possible issues
What's not so great: At times difficult to 'back up' in EasyStep

The program provides understandable instructions. It allows the user to edit answers for needed corrections.

For taxes paid in 2011, I used TurboTax online. This year, using the TurboTax CD, the program was unable to retrieve my information from the 2011 return. This required me to enter a great deal of information that was unchanged between the 2011 and 2012 tax years, despite instructions that indicated the prior year's information could be automatically retrieved..
What's great about it: Understandable instructions. Easy interface.
What's not so great: I used the CD for the 2012 return, but the program could not retrieve my data from filing online with TurboTax for 2011.

Fantastic for Years

I've been using Turbo Tax to do my own taxes since a tax preparation associate at a national company scared me to death with how little she knew in 2002. Ten years later I love doing my own taxes with Turbo Tax. It's seen me through a divorce, remarriage, two kids, and the sale of two houses across three states. I love that I know exactly what it's going to ask for and I can save the documents throughout the year. When tax time comes I pull out my file and am ready to go! Love it!
What's great about it: Easy to Follow, Reliable
What's not so great: None
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

2012 refund

It would be more helpful to be a little clearer when inputting expenses. For example, I listed my car, because I am a sales rep. The second year I was filing using the same car, I almost missed a huge deduction because the way it reads is if I used the same car, I didn't need to edit anything. It wasn't until I researched all the forms and compared them to the prior year, I found that I didn't update pertinent information to receive my deduction. The "Easy Guide", still displays the same way when coming to my car expenses, so I have to make a note every year form the previous year.
What's great about it: stores previous years information
What's not so great: If I didn't take notes every year, I would have missed deductions

easy peasy filing

I have used turbo tax for the last 10 years. it keeps getting easier to use. Never had problem with tax filing or questions from state or fed IRS.
What's great about it: easy to follow guides, asking the right questions, import of last years form makes it fast
What's not so great: payment options unclear at times

I appreciated the ease-of-use of the product; it ported over my info from last year and then cross-checked with me to see if anything had changed; the software is both sophisticated and user-friendly; it made sure that I was really happy with the data entered before moving; e-filing was as simple as can be. All-in-all, did everything I wanted it to, was easy to understand and follow, reduced the process of filing both Federal and state tax forms to something almost enjoyable.
What's great about it: Helped me every step of the way
What's not so great: Can't think of any

I like using the Turbo Tax for filing my taxes. This is my tenth year using the program. For someone who always did simple taxes, Turbo Tax made it easier for me when I started itemizing.
My only draw back is for the fee I have to pay to e-file state taxes.
