Loved that it walks you through all the Steps. You don't have to understand all the "Tax Mumbo Jumbo" to use this software, just enter your information, answer a bunch of questions and it does the rest. Simply Great.!!
What's great about it: Easy to Understand.
What's not so great: Extra Cost for State.

Quick and So So Easy!

I was able to complete my both federal and state taxes in only one afternoon while entertaining my active 7 year old! Everything is very explained and easy to follow and there are plenty of places for stopping points (for lunch breaks, bathroom breaks, help putting together lego breaks, etc.!) It helps to have all of your paperwork together though before you start so you can enter all of your figures without searching through mountains of paperwork that seem to accumulate in a home office! Definately recommend Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Really nothing that I've come across

i just got married at the end of 2012, and using turbo tax made it all easy, just as if i was filing as "single". just follow the instructions. but i wish i could use my tablet instead.
What's great about it: easy to follow instructions

Irritating problems

I prepared my draft Federal and state taxes 4/12. When I tried to file, Turbotax told me the forms - like the 1040 - were not yet available from the taxing authority. When I went to Help, I was told they were, in fact, available, as they should be, 3 days before April 15. But I still couldn't file even though when I clicked on the Turbotax drop-down menu on "Update software" or "Update forms" nothing happened. Two days later, figuring there must be some way to update the CD, I clicked on the icon at the bottom bar and, this time, the update button worked. But the delay was very frustrating. I also found the explanation of "taxable amount" for my Federal pension 1099-R confusing. I had to review the tax return from the first year after I retired to confirm that "taxable amount" on the 1099-R already reflected the general method for accounting for the part of my retirement which I paid into. Finally, there was a typo somewhere I can't remember which resulted in the opposite of the correct explanation.
What's great about it: As usual, working through the detailed questionnaire worked well.
What's not so great: Bad information and difficulty updating.

It was a painless experience. We have been using Turbo Tax for many years. We would highly recommend it to everyone.
What's great about it: Directions and guidance were easy to follow. Very thorough!

I have been using Turbo Tax to complete my taxes for at least 5 years now and it has been very easy and stress free. I like how everything is step by step. I have never had any audit issues. I will continue to use Turbo Tax to file my taxes. Thank You!

Fast and easy! Makes me feel secure!

I've been using TT for years and every year they add to a great experience. It took me three hours and a couple of beers to finish at a very slow pace! It takes out the cumbersome and pain of filing tax returns. This one's for you! Cheers!
PS - I got a nice refund this year!

Not so good

Think the program covered everything, but when it came to filing, both e-filing and multiple state, the added charges were a surprise. Also a disappointment.
Will re-consider other options next year.
