I used a tax preparer last year - and came back to on-line filing. I don't think the professional preparer gave me any additional info or more deductions than I get through this product. And this is a lot less expensive.
What's great about it: Good questions covered all the areas. Liked seeing the $ expected payment / refund as the information was updated.
What's not so great: Editing was a little cumberson. Some boxes were no longer checked, etc.

Recaracterized part of a Roth IRA contribution to a Traditional Roth and could not get the numbers to balance in the Easy Guide format. Had to go to the actual form to correct the error. Took me over an hour to figure out a way to correct TurboTax's calculation error. Not good.
What's not so great: Had to go to the forms section to correct IRA recaricterization calculation error.

EASY and HEAD ACHE FREE!

Second year using TURBO TAX and i recommend it to friends and family who continue to rely on tax preparers to do their taxes. Not only is Turbo tax user friendly, but its cost effective and you don't feel the pressure of answering questions you don't understand.
What's great about it: the flow of every page allows you to continue to move effortlessly with direct questions & explanations a button away!
What's not so great: no complaint!

I have tried different free tax software and cheaper pay versions, however I always return to using and filing my returns with Turbo Tax.

Good for analysis

As always TurboTax was great as to knowing the current tax law. Not being able to import last year's return except at the beginning is very amateurist.
What's great about it: up to date on tax law
What's not so great: can't inport last year's taxes unless done upfront; absurd

What's great about it: Easy installment and a breeze to use.
What's not so great: None!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
