2012 taxes

I can rely on TurboTax to answer my tax questions. I can rely on it toget me all my deductions.
What's great about it: easy to enter and very reliable. Help is great.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

california tax fee

I bought the deluxe version of turbo tax, which advertised that it included one state refund. I had used the "free" online version in the past, realized it was not truly "free", so I believed I was covering my bases. Well, proved wrong when I went to finish my filing. Saw online that a "fee" was charged at the end, and this "fee" happened to be the amount of the regular file fee. Just feel it was misleading, and when I went for answers, I believe I am not alone
What's great about it: got the tax forms done and filed
What's not so great: tt deluxe advertises 1 state refund, yet still charged 19.99

Great as always, no surprises, seeks out all possible deductions, very easy steps to follow, along with my own taxes do my adult kids, quick easy and accurate. Like the E-File options, dont have to worry about mailing and I know Quicken Turbo Tax site is secured. See you next year! Dsm

Its a pretty good tax program, but I have not used the other ones so I can't compare. Some sections are a little confusing even with the program, but I guess that is just a part of our incredibly confusing tax code.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to follow

Filing Went Smoothly

I have used the product for several years and keep coming back. It seems to improve every year, getting less cumbersome and more user friendly. I will be back next year. Thanks for a great product!!
What's great about it: Very intuitive, Brings up items entered from previous years which helps prevent accidental omissons.
What's not so great: None

Done in a FLASH !

My earned income as well as my dividend income, interest income, retirement income and IRA withdrawls were all taken care of. The program prompted me to inter all my deductions even some I hadn't thought of!
What's great about it: The program led me through all required forms.
What's not so great: When I printed it out I got a number of items I didn't need.

Another good experience with TurboTax

Have been using TurboTax since 1999 and had another good experience this time. The software is easy to navigate and very comprehensive. However, I did notice bugs in the software this time. When the software would perform a review and compare 2011 data versus 2012, often the 2012 data would display only zeros. When returning to the specific areas and the tax forms themselves to verify, the correct numbers were displayed, but not on the summaries. This was disturbing because it called into question whether the software was correctly capturing the information. These errors did require that I review several areas of the program, taking additional time to complete the process
What's great about it: Very comprehensive, easy to step through
What's not so great: Some bugs in the software, reviews did not display deductions

I have been using Turbotax for years. We have a complicated tax return with rentals, trusts etc. Every year Turbotax has improved the program and it has become really easy to use. I also do volunteer taxes using an IRS tax program which is so complicated to use that most mistakes are made using the program instead of understanding the tax code.
