It's better than doing your taxes with pen & paper

My biggest complaint with Turbo tax is that it is hard to modify the return to your specific circumstances. Turbo tax wants you to fit into the mold, and if you don't, then hours will be spent adjusting the basic assumptions. Don't get me wrong, I have used Turbo Tax Pro for 15 years, and I love the ease of importing data, but there are still some things they can tweak to make it user friendly.
What's great about it: It does your taxes
What's not so great: It wants to argue with you
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

WINNING!!

I was dreading, like most, doing my 2012 taxes. I decided to do them a day before they were due. I was able to do my taxes in a short amount of time with TurboTax. As soon as I was finished I was out the door on my way to the gym with a lighter mind knowing that I completed my taxes and I still had the rest of my day to enjoy. Thank you TurboTax for saving the day!!

Education help

I was confused about all the education, tuition, books and fees for my son's college. Turbo Tax walked me through each item and made sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks TurboTax!
What's great about it: Helped me get the maximum education credit
What's not so great: Can't even think of one.

Have for years used TurboTax; based on the Minnesota concerns and my difficulty in getting the forms updated not sure if I will use Turbo tax again.

Another year, another Turbo Tax!

This is the seventh year I have used Turbo Tax. Its clear explanations, easy downloading of updates and ability to move through the return sequentially or randomly make it very easy to make changes and corrections as you go or later on. Although we use Quicken for home and business expenses, I've never let TT download data from Quicken. Rather, I create a year end report and export it to an Excel spread sheet. Why? Because I would have to modify classes and categories in Quicken or go through a lengthy alignment of categories for tax purposes. I wish I could do this within TT by way of internal dynamic worksheets. An online video training for how to import Quicken data to TT would also be a big help.
What's great about it: Familiar interface, excellent explanations
What's not so great: Still require external worksheets

2012 Filing

We have been using TT for the past 4-5 years without problems, however, this year we had numerous problems. One of them was looking at the worksheet for the details of the calculations for the taxable amount of SS benefits. It was not clear from the worksheet. We could not determine wether it was correct or not, we assumed it was.
The other was the inclusion of Schedule K-1 from 2011 that was no longer applicable. We had difficulty deleting it.
What's great about it: Overall use was good, less so than in past years.
What's not so great: Poor handling of not applicable forms such as Schedule K-1. We had a tough time deleting it.

Turbo Tax is My Hero

I have been using TurboTax for several years now and have had absolutely no trouble using. Tax time is not my favorite time of the year. I absolutely hate to set down and actually enter a bunch of numbers, however, Turbo Tax makes it really easy and pain free every year. This year was especially stressful because I had to pay but Turbo Tax made it as easy as possible. Thanks Turbo Tax, for an outstanding product.
What's great about it: Very Easy, clear questions with specific advice at each entry
What's not so great: No real cons
