Love the software

I recommend the software to anyone who asks about taxes...it's easy to use and thorough! I used to research all the deductions and this software saves me tons of time. Thank you!
What's great about it: the walk-through approach
What's not so great: didn't find me a refund!! LOL

Basically A Good Experience

Despite a medium level of complexity, Turbotax was fairly painless to use. When I discovered other deductionables, it was reasonably easy to revise the inputs to various sections. Potential criticism: instead of using the back and continue keys, maybe could have some kind of explorer-style navigation tool? Was kind of difficult sometimes to find where I wanted to go. Also, some of the error-checking didn't give a "back" option, so whatever I keyed in is final.
What's great about it: Was not terrifying to use
What's not so great: still paid some taxes

2012 Done Again

I've used Turbo Tax for many years. I find that I can do my own taxes without needing to set an appointment and pay someone a lot more money to do what I can do.

Works but less transparent and more confusing

I have used Turbo-Tax for a number of years and it works well. I would like to see the forms while I work and get better explanations of my options and the requirements for each. I am in a different state this year and could not understand the state rules as well. I have a state pension that is untaxed in my old state but not this one. Also what are the state residency requirements?
What's great about it: Pulls last years information and handels federal and state very efficiently.
What's not so great: Seems to be getting less transparent each year. Puts on a hard sell for state e-file and quicken.

Long-time user of turbo-tax. The new tax laws require more info from the taxpayer that the broker often does not provide (tax basis missing, etc). Need help here. K-1s are always tough to deal with---need a little primer here too.
What's great about it: Easy, thorough, and fast for basic tax matters
What's not so great: Need more options for covered and uncovered stock sells and purchases
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
