I've been using the product for over 16 years, and I've gotten my daughter hooked on using the product to complete her taxes for the last three years. TURBO TAX YOU ROCK!!!
What's great about it: AWESOME PRODUCT, Extremely easy to follow, and the help function is great.
What's not so great: no cons

Good product overall

This is a good product because of its dependability, especially if you wait to the last minute to file.
Although either it's gotten much better over the years or I'm just used to it, navigation between sessions could still be improved. When I come back to TT it seems I have to go back to the start of a section and re-answer some questions when I may have saved and quit further along. And navigating back to a previous step is a little cumbersome, you have to press the <BACK> repeatedly, then the <CONTINUE> button repeatedly to return to where you were. If there's an easier way to navigate, it's not obvious to me, using the product only once a year as I do.
What's great about it: I've been suing it for years. It takes a lot of the pain out of the whole process.
What's not so great: Navigation could be improved.

Gets easier each year!

I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone who wants to do their own taxes. Its step-by-step process is easy to follow and the whole program is easy to stop at any point and then pick back up at a later time. I absolutely LOVE the new It's Deductible! It now contains so many more items to choose from and it was so much easier to use this year as it let you enter multiple items at a time. I plan to use it all year so that next year I can just import it.
What's great about it: Sped you through a process you were comfortable with but gave explanation for those areas in question.
What's not so great: Occasionally couldn't find a topic because my words didn't match theirs. Could use a little more cross-references.

I answered a question incorrectly and spent hours trying to fix it.
There were items that I needed to edit and I knew what the edits were, but TurboTax would not allow me to access these sections: specifically: assign a third party designee on 1040 and a 1099-MISC that got incorrectly assiged to an unrelated LLC that doesn't file, but is on a Schedule C

always use turbotax

I have always used Turbo Tax and have been very pleased with it. The screen that helps decide how to allocate mortgage interest deductions has always confused me adn given me fits.
It must be because I despise AMT in the first place. To me it is the biggest joke about tax rates, and tax cuts. You can't really have a tax rate cut if you don't touch AMT.
What's great about it: Has always been my go to tool
What's not so great: The alternative minimum tax area explanations sometimes are incomplete
