Another successful year using Turbo Tax!

I have used TT for over 10 years now and because of this software, I never sweat tax season. This software involves approx. 2% of your own personal thought/judgment, leaving 98% of the driving in TT's hands! Great stuff!
What's great about it: 98% automatic walk thru
What's not so great: 2% personal thought

Turbo Tax makes doing taxes so much easier. I love the way it walks you through all of the steps. "Its Deductible" makes your donations really work for you!

Good, but a little confusing

I have used TurboTax for the last 8 years. For the most part, I have enjoyed it. It is much cheaper than hiring a tax professional. It gives step by step instructions for filing. The only reason I gave it four stars is because this year we had an added complexity to our return. I was a little confused at times, and I had to do alot of extra research online to understand TurboTax's descriptions and available information.
What's great about it: Step by step instructions
What's not so great: Too much research for complex returns

Been using TurboTax since first came out. I actually look forward to doing my taxes. That doesn't mean I do them early, since I usually owe money. But it does mean I do them quickly!
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Really, they are still TAXES!

A great way to do taxes

As a very long term user of Turbo Tax, I think it is great and improves a bit every year. I have recently started using the state version (Montana) and, while it is also good, there are a few glitches with it. Examples: 1) hard to navigate to sub-pages in the step-by-step. 2) Does not correctly show difference between joint and "married filing separately". 3# does not correctly calculate estimated taxes for couples filing separately - very common in this state, so TT should estimate it correctly.
On Federal - I don't like having to answer the same questions repeatedly, where the answers are not changing #like foreign accounts?#
Cost - State e-filing fee is too high!!! #but I pay it anyway#.

I love the fact that TurboTax can transfer info from previous years filings and has the easyglide option.
What's great about it: Step-by-step process
What's not so great: when clicking on back button, sometimes it takes you too far back and not to each individual section

What's not so great: A more aggressive algorithm can avoid asking unnecessary questions based on the information the user has provided.
