Confidence with my results

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and I really like how it remembers your previous years information and fills in a lot of the current information for you when you start up the new return. I use Turbo Tax primarily because it has such a handy charitable deduction donations list with fair market values for the items listed so you don't have to guess or under value your items. I do wish they had a miscellaneous items list for those items which just don't fit a specific listed category or item list.
What's great about it: easy to work on over multiple time periods. remembers where you left off and reviews how you got there often.
What's not so great: No miscellaneous listing for donated items that do not fit the predetermined categories listed.

TURBO TAX EXPERIENCE-2012

EVERYTHING WAS GOING 'SWIMMINGLY' WHEN I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT (3) FORMS INCLUDING A 1040, 8863 AND ONE OTHER REQUIRED 'UPGRADING'. THE UPGRADES WERE NOT FORTHCOMING AND (3) HOURS LATER, AFTER GOING THROUGH A TURBO-TAX WINDOWS EXPERT, AND LATER A APPLE MAC EXPERT, WE STUMBLED UPON THE FACT THAT THE UPGRADES COULD NOT BE MADE AS LONG AS THE TURBO-TAX DISC WAS STILL IN THE COMPUTER. YOUR TAX EXPERTS WERE VERY FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS, AND CARING BUT A SIMPLE QUESTION WHETHER THE DISC WAS IN THE COMPUTER OR NOT WOULD HAVE AVOIDED A LOT OF HEARTBURN ON MY PART AND TIME ON THEIR PART. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE TURBO-TAX ; ITS THE BEST. I CONGRATULATE YOUR PROS FOR DEALING WITH US LESS TECH SAAVY PEOPLE. /THANKS RICH F
What's great about it: PROFESSIONAL- WELL LAID OUT
What's not so great: MORE DIFFICULT THIS YEAR- WITH A APPLE MAC-MINI

Heart-Stopping Thrills and Chills - - Happy Ending

I'm so glad I invested a few paltry dollars in this program - - this was a more complex return than I typically file, and TurboTax asked all the right questions so that I didn't miss anything and so that my refund was maximized. Thank you so much!
What's great about it: Talked me through the complexities and didn't miss an opportunity.
What's not so great: No downside to TurboTax - - just not fun doing the ol' taxes!

I can't think of any cons, if you have a regular return to file with standard deductions this is a very good tool.
The program advizes and saves info you need for next year as well!

Oh So Easy!

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 10 years and it just keeps getting better and better! It is so easy and quick that I don't dread doing my taxes anymore. I especially love how it incorporates my Quicken and It's Deductible!
What's great about it: The question and answer format keeps you from missing deductions!
What's not so great: Updates after I've already filed.

First times a charm

I saved over a hundred dollars by purchasing Turbo Tax and for never using it before I really liked the ease.
What's great about it: As a first time user you can close and re visit any portion of the process to edit previous entries
What's not so great: With out finger nails it's hard to get tape off the box to open it.

The Only Way to do Your Taxes!

I have used Turbo Tax for 5 years now and I will continue to in the future. Even though I have to buy an additional state product and pay for e-filing two states, the ease in which Turbo Tax allows the user to prepare and file taxes is still far superior to other products or using a CPA. Once the federal return is done, completing the state return(s) is quite simple (and I have a non-resident state return to complete each year). I would recommend Turbo Tax to anyone looking for a reliable piece of software to do taxes at home.
What's great about it: Ease of use, good explanations for complex issues, ease of e-filing
What's not so great: Fees for e-filing state returns
