Makes tax time easy

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years and find it very user friendly and accurate. Of course you do have to have and enter all the info correctly ... but when it walks you through you can usually determine if there is anything you missed or need to look into further.
What's great about it: User friendly and consistent from year to year
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Turbo Tax worked again

As for many years, TurboTax did a good job of collecting information and saved entries from last year so we could just update amounts for several items. The only issue seemed to come from classification of interest. It was also confusing when we wanted to have an electronic debit as a payment method and it would not set that up as part of the form, but did have it on the submission step.
What's great about it: Ability to download information from Financial institutions
What's not so great: Review seemed to include things we did not select

taxes made easy???

I found easy guide very usefule and better this year than last. However, I noticed in the comparison summary of last year errors - listed items not on last year's return. instance medical expenses. I also noticed totals in this year's deductions that did not match what I had typed or what showed on the return. also, when trying to enter business expenses, easyguide didn't take me thru the steps until I went back a third time to try and correct error caught on review. My only suggestion is in the review process, easyguide take the user back to the easy guide process rather than to a form ... if I wanted to do the form, I would not have chosen easy guide. Overall rating, still an 8... Easy guide is the way to go.
What's great about it: easy guide is wonderful
What's not so great: found sums in the summaries that were inaccurate ... even when I checked back

Tax Headach Relief

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years. It has gotten progressively more complicated over time, but then again so have the tax codes! It is a relief to let someone else worry about keeping up with all the changes.
You don't have to worry about missing a schedule for your return - this completes and attaches all required schedules and worksheets for each form.
If you used it the prior year it carries forward all relevant data and of course, it does all calculations for you. It has all the filing and payment information for you, too. These are minor things compared to tax law, but very helpful.
I can't imagine doing my taxes without Turbo Tax - and I'm an accountant.
What's great about it: No searching for forms, no calculations, no researching tax laws
What's not so great: Interview can be long & confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

When you're in a hurry or just pressed for time, TurboTax helps you wind through the complex tax issues quickly and relatively easy. As mentioned above, though, the interfact to "It's Deductible" is somewhat clunky. Back when It's Deductible was a separate program, the ability to add new items to the list and establish an estimated value was part of their program. Now, you have to enter each item NOT included in It's Deductible separately by date, and if you have a number of items they don't include, this not only takes time, but it can expand the number of forms you end up having to file.
What's great about it: General Ease of use and clarity
What's not so great: Interface with "It's Deductible"
