I couldn't do it without TurboTax

My only complaint is that the place to choose to apply the federal overpayment to current year taxes is buried in with too many other things, so I missed it the first two times through. It should have its own page.
What's great about it: Easy to follow steps and thorough coverage of ordinary situations. Autoloading of prior year's information.
What's not so great: The placr to choose to apply federal overpayment to current year's tax ought to have its own page.

My tax

Wish I could get help to calculatecost basis of stocks sold with Turbo deluxe. Hesutant to use online Turbo tax for fear of privacy issue. I bought Quicken, and have not mastered yet
What's great about it: good
What's not so great: last year's Turbo tax was easier to follow

Easy Peasy

I have used it for over 10 years to prepare 3 returns from easy to complicated & it's always been reliable & up-to-date. Really love the free e-filing!
What's great about it: imports last year's info the guides you step by step with handy notes & explanations
What's not so great: I hate the way it extends below the screen so that you have to scroll to get to the bottom sections

So so simple

Upload from investments worked so simply and such a time saver. I started off doing everything manually thru Turbo Tax and now (4 years later) I will automatically upload anything I can.
What's great about it: Hand guided me thru all aspects of my return
What's not so great: No cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Used Turbo Tax for many years, this year I found it a bit challenging on a number of issues. Navigation was difficult in getting back to selections once selected.

I Love Turbotax

I love Turbotax for the flexibility it gives me in my tax preparation. I don't have to gather all my documents based on a deadline set by an accountant. I can enter my data over the course of a day, weeks or even months. I can see my refund status and if I have missed any income or deductions that I reported in a previous year. Data from previous year's return is easy to import into current year's return. I appreciate being able to file my Federal return for free electronically.
What's great about it: I can enter information at my own pace. Don't have to use accountant or get everything together on their deadline.
What's not so great: Updates to program after I have filed my returns and I file right around April 15th. Wish state filing was free.

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2009 and it has saved us a lot of money. It was easy to follow and the best thing is I did not have to pay someone else to do my taxes. It has given me an honest review of my taxes.
What's great about it: easy to follow
What's not so great: nothing
