simplistic with some issues

was good experience - one issue was hard to find why 2106 form was working with 50% and not 80% for a truck driver. looked and looked and finally found it.
What's great about it: follow through was thorough
What's not so great: one stumbling block-hard to find an answer had to really look and go to community and finally found answer

Cannot see all itemized items until done (review) such as State income taxes paid last year.
What's great about it: auto populate from last year's return & W2 too (no pun)

Easy Peasy

As always, we waited until the last second to do our dreaded taxes. I'm not sure why because Turbo Tax made it quick, simple and painless! Turbo Tax walked us through each part step by step with easy to understand instructions, questions and guidelines. It's comforting to have their guarantee behind our taxes also!

Turbo Tax 2012 review

The Turbo Tax software really walks you through all the potential income and deductions. The menu systems is context driven so if you skip an item you don't deal with all the questions related to that item which speeds up tie to complete. Year by year comparison helps you understand if there are any anomolies which may mean you missed something (or may flag you for an audit). The review and error check at the end really sensures the quality of your return. very usable software witt good results and lots of assistance to identify deductions.
What's great about it: Easy to use, pulls in previous years data, year by year comparisons
What's not so great: Cannot easily use on multiple computers, wanted to work on laptop and desktop

Need more detail on what to do if you do not receive a 1099 for contract for deed interest payments...if we didn't receive one, how do we know what their tax id numbers is? We provided a full address.

Clergy

I did not find a worksheet for figuring how much of my clergy housing allowance I had used. Clergy housing allowance is not adequately dealt with when the entire housing allowance is not used and a portion of the housing allowance has to be added back as income. I had to find the correct form and enter it myself. Also retired clergy have housing allowances and the treatment of 1099-Rs does not facilitate the housing allowance portion of pensions. Maybe help was available, but my schedule does not allow time to seek additional help. I need it readily available. The program does not even recognize the term 'housing allowance'.
What's great about it: Can do on the computer
What's not so great: Doesn't understand Clergy Taxes
