easy to use

Turbo tax is so easy to use, I don't know why anyone would pay to have a tax person do thier taxes. I already have to track town receipts and gather information, so it is easier and cheaper for myself to enter the information than pay a tax person to do it for me.
It is probably not too common for people to use, but the early IRA distribution section is somewhat inclear. Perhaps better explaination in the reasons for dirtribution should be explained better. I had to research on my own, and then enter appropriate information into Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: IRA early distribution section somewhat confusing

I trust turbotax to find me the biggest return I have earned. Following the step-by-step instructions makes for maximum return with minimal effort. I have been using turbotax for as long as I can remember...is always up-to-date on tax changes so I don't have to be!
What's great about it: step-by-step detailed deductions
What's not so great: some of the help guides on mortage deductions not too clear

Lacking on state

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 15 or more years. I did try a competing product one year and didn't like it as well. Then when I went back to Turbo Tax I had to start from scratch. This year I deducted my electric car, and it was easy to claim the $7500 Federal credit. When i worked on my State taxes, the form required for alternative fuel vehicle credit was not included.
What's great about it: I like importing my last years info.
What's not so great: SC form 35 didn't get included in state froms

Unbelievably fast and easy!

Saved me money on my state return that I'm sure I would have missed!
What's great about it: Makes sure you get all deductions you are due
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Overall the package does the job. The average person is no expert in tax law, so we have to rely on the system to do it right.Over the years, I have had few issues.
What's great about it: Most entries were efficient
What's not so great: some areas are hard to find...IRA, SEP
