Been using Turbo Tax for over 12 years. Automatically fills in all data from previous year. Generates tax return data in PDF format for easy data record storage. Down loads critical financial/investment data from most sources. Excellent flexibility for migrating through the various sections. Totally well designed system ----- THANKS!!!

What's not so great: none
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The software seems to improve year by year as one would expect. It seems to ask what it should ask to make sure you're reporting all that you should report and benefit from what the law allows you to benefit from.
Not sure if this was a bug, but at some point near the end of the state tax prep, I hit "back" to make sure I entered something correctly on a previous screen and instead of navigating one screen back I was taken to the start screen of the state prep portion. Thankfully, the information that I had previously entered was still there.
Price note to Intuit, if the "audit defense" feature was at least $20 less, I might have bought that too.
What's great about it: Ease of use and the holistic appraoch
What's not so great: None

An excellent tax program. I have been using Turbo Tax for many years, perhaps since it was introduced. It has continued to improve in user friendliness and format. I would recommend it to anyone. I would like to have a choice at the outset to take the Standard deduction and avoid itemizing, but I understand that the program is only trying to help me pay the least tax possible. Thanks Intuit for a great product and service.
What's great about it: Excellent tax program. Easy to use. Reliable
What's not so great: Navigating can be confusing on occasion.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The software needs to be more specific to certain tax situations. In my case, Retired Clergy, the software does not guide the user on how to take the Housing Allowance from Pension. The existing guidance is only for clergy who are still gainfully employed. I was able to do an internet search and found a response from TurboTax to the same question from someone else and was able to manually make proper entries. Given that there are thousands of Retired Clergy who qualify for Housing Allowance Deduction it would seem reasonable to have it as part of the program rather than having to enter it as a negative number in Misc. Income with a reference to Retired Clergy Housing Allowance. It's absence does not prevent a proper return. I just think it would be easier especially for those who do not know as much about taxes as I do.
What's great about it: Easy to use; accurate;
What's not so great: Needs updating to some specific tax situations.

Intuit needs to get its act together when downloading state forms. The extra step never occurred before.
What's not so great: Had to shutdown and reboot to obtain state forms

I had a few questions along the way, but otherwise found the TurboTax very easy to follow and understand.
What's great about it: Step by step questions that are easy to understand.
What's not so great: When having to go back to edit, you have to go all the way through the steps again.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
