Comprehensive and Easy

I've used Turbo Tax for many years and each year it improves. For ease of use and comprehensiveness it can not be beat. You have the option of going at your own pace or letting the software guide you through each step. I particularly like the inclusion of previous year amounts. This provides a check and balance to prevent you from overlooking something. The only feature that I found a bit problematic was the error check. Instead of guiding you back through the process, it shows you the error on the form but doesn't give any indication why it's an error. I eventually figured out that it preferred a blank space to a zero.
The online free estimation process, not a part of the software, is also very helpful if there is an income change from year to year.
All in all, it's one fine intuitive software.
What's great about it: Ensures nothing is overlooked
What's not so great: Error check can be challenging.

Easy to use

I have used Turbo Tax for 10 yrs now. Even though the tax laws change every year, I have never had a problem following the instructions. When I forget something, I'm already at home and can look it up. Thanks!!!
What's great about it: It's so simple, even I can do it.

Although quicker and easier than the regular 'paper returns', there is too little 'logical paper trail' to follow to see what you've done/entered/calculated along the step by step process and whats coming ahead. Also not intuitive enough on skipping unnecessay boxes, lines and steps from what was entered previously. It's missing a lot of the 'why' in what your doing.
What's great about it: quicker and cheaper than 'paper return'
What's not so great: can't really 'follow' the step by step process like a paper return

What's great about it: Concise questiions, many options to fill out forms, and good checking on what has been done
What's not so great: Not intuitive enough for some non computer persons

I am truly pleased with this application! Have used it for several years and would not switch to another product.

a wonderful, painless way to get a refund

I have use Turbo Tax before and each year it seems it gets so much easier. It is designed to help us that don't have a lot of experience with computers and tax rules. I am for one very grateful for this tool. I am always afraid to start, but once I get going it is easy. Thank you and all that help us get thru this process. njm
What's great about it: I like how it guides you thru the experience, easy direction, little stress and done rather quickly

Instantaneous calculations of "bottom line" allow for maximizing the refund or minimizing the payment.
What's great about it: Link access to explanations and definitions
What's not so great: Unsure of differences between versions of TT (deluxe, etc)

Simple File

Very easy to use, but it asked me for information that it then informed me was pointless to include since I'm listed by somebody else as a dependent. I have a very simple return so I didn't really use most of the features.
