Customer Service 2nd to None

While initially loading TurboTax, a virus from my laptop interrupted the installation. Once the virus problem was cleared, I needed to reinstall the program, but I had no idea how to do it.
Luckily for me, TurboTax had an excellent customer service plan in place. I reached a representative on the phone and connected her to my computer via TuboTax.com. She walked me through the de-install and re-install, which was a little tricky, but straightforward with her guidance.
Thankfully, the TurboTax representative was knowledgable and patient, and together we handled the problem. Then it was a problem no more.
What's great about it: Helped me reinstall after a computer crash

I was not able to pay for my state tax through deduction. it said my name was wrong but it was correct. It was probably the way they make you pay by credit card.

User Friendly!! Not Intimidating!!

First time user of Turbo Tax. I have used an accountant and did the returns by hand. The accountant did cost a few hundred dollars, but I didn't have to worry about accuracy. Doing them by hand was intimidating and hair pulling. It took me a few weeks and a lot of interpretation.
Turbo Tax was very user friendly! Turbo Tax made doing taxes yourself much less imitidating than using the standard booklets. It was nice to save your progress and return to it later. The icons were nice and clear. Overall it was very readable.
A negative was that a very small amount of explanations to a few questions seemed vague. Had to do a little Internet researching and some thinking to interpret the question and my answer.
Overall, a very good product that I would use again and also recommend.
I had the simple 1040 federal and corresponding state forms, not an overall complex tax process.
What's great about it: step by step, able to save and return later, nice clear icons, very readable
What's not so great: some explanations to questions seemed a little vague

Piece of cake

My returns are pretty easy, not a ton of itemization or state tax. Went through all the the screens and it got me my refund $$$$. Oh how easy it is to do taxes now. I use to wait for my scheduled appointment with a name brand tax pro- which never was on time. Not any more! Sorry tax pro guys, Turbo Tax rules now!

American Opportunity Education Credit

The instructions need to be more clear, ie, what is actually included in expenses that are actually paid. the 1098-t is very confusing since the form is prepared on a school year and most taxpayers use a calendar year and the tax year includes the the first three months of the new year.

Reliable Refund

TurboTax is an easy to use product that i have come to reley on. I have used it for the past four years and have come to know that i can expect user friendly interfaces that steps me through the whole process. The software is smart enough to take information from last years filings to fill out personal information and allows you to contrast your current tax return from the previous return.

Not the best

This is the seventh year I've used the product. Have to say it was the worst experience. I don't like the way you have to go through all income and expenses, no way to shortcut. The updates were very difficult to install.
What's great about it: Good walk through
What's not so great: cumbersome. Slow to load; updates did not always work
