you should totally use this product

As a retired State Tax collector, I appreciate the fact that I not only don't have to do my own taxes any more by hand, I also don't have to try to keep up with the many changes in the tax law anymore. TurboTax does it all.
What's great about it: simple to use
What's not so great: can't think of any

The professionals always happily took our hard earned money. Finally took the "Turbo" plunge, and were totally impressed. Esspecially when I needed the assisstance of a live professional. He really was alive, imagine that?????
What's great about it: When i needed, I talked to live person, who really helped, WOW!
What's not so great: Little confusing at first to through the landuage

Better Every Year

Overall, I liked it. However, there were some problems. Whenever I exited I was rarely returned to where I left off. Also, when I imported one mutual fund family that was not a participating company last year, I was left with two copies of the 1099R, one from last year. Also, I imported 1099R tax statements from Vanguard, the 1099DIV was imported at the same time and last year's 1099DIV was also in the list. The Review process flagged it as an error so I deleted the imported copies and typed in the values for this year (so last year's would appear in the list).
Finally, I noted that the California schedule CA will use the itemized amount from Federal Schedule A IF you have itemized. Fortunately, I had gone through the itemized deductions hoops so I had a Schedule A. I think users should be alerted to run through the itemized deductions even if you use the standard deduction in your federal return.
What's great about it: Time-saver,accurate,user friendly.
What's not so great: Exit-return location confusing, import problems.

When I clicked on the button to print a return, I could save to a PDF FILE, (Did Not Want to do), PREVIEW ( Did not want to do) CANCEL ( Did Not Want to do) that's it
NEVER DID GET A COPY PRINTED
What's great about it: Everyting was great except for printing a return.
What's not so great: Printing a file copy

few hiccups, wouldn't upload last years return

I use this program every year, but this year, it would not upload last year's return so I had to hand enter everything again. Once I got to the State return section, I got stuck in a loop after it downloaded the State documents, and it would not let me start on the documents. I searched suggestions from other users and restarted my computer on my own which did fix the problem. The program instructions said it would restart on it's own and would take me to where I left off, and this did not happen.
What's great about it: Makes sure I don't miss anything
What's not so great: Did not upload last year's return and had to restart computer on my own before it would file state

I use these guys every year now, they really make it easy.
What's great about it: Uses last years info so they are half done right when I start.
What's not so great: Didn't get me a million dollars

I have used TurboTax for the past 10 years and have found
it very useful and accurate for filing both my Federal and State returns. One year I had to amend a return and it was very useful for that as well. I will continue to use TurboTax for as long as I have to file taxes.
