State Tax OK Drove Me Crazy

As usual TT did a great job, with exception of when it came to OK Tax looking to decide if any 1099B transactions from FED were applicable to OK as tax exempt. I thought NOT editing the transactions in the Summary of OK Capital Gains & Losses (per instructions) would keep them marked as not applicable. Program assumed all were applicable and I found no way of completing the OK taxes other than going through every single transaction and marking with "X" to avoid counting the deduction. This took a long time and changed the OK taxes from 1900 refund to 1700 owed (which was correct). There should have been an override or a fix in place that was picked up when updates came from the web.
What's great about it: Liked FED 1099B Download eliminatng 15 pages of typing
What's not so great: Hated OK Form 561 where program made incorrect calculations

Just about as simple and paint by # as you can get. Really like the ability to review/edit each section at any time. Also comparing previous year turbo tax file is great !
Didn't waste all weekend doing this, if you have all info in front of you, this can be done in 1-2 hrs max.

TurboTax 2012

I have used TurboTax for the Mac since it first became available. Each year it has gotten easier to use, become more thorough, and implemented new ways to safeguard the taxpayer. For example, the first year I used Turbo Tax it took me almost 16 hours to complete my return and to mail it. Since then Turbo Tax helped me to organize my tax records and to collect important data. I'm retired, own stock and real estate, and use Form 1040 with its many forms. This year, it took me just over two hours to file AND, for a small fee, Intuit tax professionals will handle all aspects of an audit should one occur! Turbo Tax has granted me both peace of mind and confidence.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, thorough, and makes filing simple
What's not so great: Some, not much, of the fine print is hard to read.

This Is getting hard

My husband has a very simple business. But I have difficultly using just Turbo Tax Deluxe. I use to be able to do every thing I needed with plain Turbo Tax. I really don't like that you can no longer force an override by typing something in the Forms. I had a very hard time finding where to enter Cost of Goods Sold. I couldn't go to Forms and have it direct me back to where it was in easy step. I ended up having to answer several questions incorrectly to be able to get to where it was. Better navigation overall would be good. I'm tired of having to repeat an entire section to charge a single entry. The Flags did help but it took me awhile to realize how useful they are.
What's great about it: I'm familiar with it.
What's not so great: Previous capabilities have been removed.

I found it frustrating trying to find information about questions in relation to questions. Just providing the IRS statements isn't always enough, interpretations would help. The user interface needs many updates to help improve the ease of use.
What's great about it: carryover data from previous years
What's not so great: Turbo Tax is not very user friendly and lack information for questions to explain meaning

Overall very easy to use. It doesn't take very long as long as you have all your paperwork in order. I like that it automatically pulled over my information from ADP.
I usually dread the state tax but Turbo Tax made it a breeze.
