TurboTax® Easy To Navigate

Overall, the software receives an 'EXCELLENT' rating from me as I believe it's thorough. While you may get a question asked much later, it at least is thorough enough to recap, review and make absolutely sure that all is ready prior to transmitting. This avoids filing an amended tax form later. I highly recommend it. Just answer one question at a time.
What's great about it: Very easy with which to navigate from section to section.
What's not so great: Sometimes software may come back to ask you something later.

Once you have entered something, Turbo doesn't recognize the change....there are a few glitches that it won't let you fix something. EX: W-2 line 10 is blank but turbo won't recognize even a 0 entry......keeps saying there is an error. Haven't had this problem in the past. .....used is for 7 years now.
What's great about it: easier to get around than in the past.
What's not so great: hard to change things

Entry and review of data before filing was easy to do. Right before doing my e-file of my fed and state returns, I downloaded a state software update. After I clicked ok to the update, TT is supposed to reload. It didn't. It acted as if I "X"d the screen off. I tryed reloading TT again. Did the same thing. Tried a 3rd time, w/same result. I then tried finding "Help" and got to a screen saying that online chat would be a long wait. Tried closing down TT, and clicking on my returns. This time, thank g-d, it loaded. NOT FUNNY!
Other thing that I haven't liked about TT is that there is no logon and password to get into the returns. If someone steals my pc, all of my personal tax info is stolen. What a mess that would be. You need to add a logon and password.

What's great about it: Easy to input and change data
What's not so great: If there's a problem, then, there might be a problem.

i havre used turbo tax for the pst several years but this is the first time i am doing electronic filing

Great product

The IRS gobbledygook is probably unavoidable; translating it into English constitutes "tax advice" which may or may not be accurate depending on your individual situation. Also, I wish there were a way to alphabetize the list of charities, which would make it easier to reconcile with my records.
Other than that, TurboTax is great.
What's great about it: Walks you through everything, with detailed instructions
What's not so great: Some of the detailed instructions include IRS gobbledygook

Made it through the jungle

I've used Turbo Tax for ten years now and over all it has been a very good product. But this year had issues I've never had before. I'd rate it one of their poorest years I've used.
What's great about it: Pretty easy, can tranfer in information from previous years for Turbo Tax users
What's not so great: Had program glitches, over whelmed support, no instructions for some forms

What's great about it: the option to go straight to the forms or use easy-step.
What's not so great: I wish it were available earlier in 2012 for proforma use

Software Problem with Turbo Tax

Schhedule A printed with a number of streaks across the page, and some of the information was hidden. I was able to obtain a clean copy of the form by going to the "Forms" section and pulling the Schedule up. Someone needs to correct this problem. I verified it was not my printer by printing it several times.
What's great about it: Easy to use.
What's not so great: Print error problem with Schedule A
