Tax Time - Another Year

YES - another welcomeTurbo Tax assistance to do tax filing with Federal and State taxes. This is about 10th or more years using Turbo Tax for me. It was first recommended to me by friends and I have recommended it to my friends.

Would have been better if there was a live tutorial walking you through the steps that you could ask questions.

Excellent tax tool

We have used Turbo Tax for many years and love how easy it is to use. We have to itemize our deductions because my husband works in transportation and this program makes my life much easier for documentation and tracking expenses.
What's great about it: simple and easy to use
What's not so great: could have used direct link to transportation per diem rates

Problems this year

As usual it was quick and easy to do my federal return. My problem came when trying to do the state return. There is a glitch in the program. After about an hour of trying to reach Turbo Tax I finally saw the solution in the answer from a fellow user. Once I shut down my computer and started it up again, everything was fine.
What's great about it: Quick and easy

I have used Turbo Tax for several years. Had this been my first, I would never repeat it. There were too many glitches and the support system was totally useless to me. I am going to have to rethink Turbo Tax before next year or this will be my final year of using this system. What a shame. Prior to this, I have enjoyed the ease of the system and have recommended it to several friends and family members.

Bugs which arose in the Review section relating to Schedule B and Form 1099 DIV resulted in not being able to e-file either form. I went online and tried all the fixes other people had used--with no success. Even after downloading all the updates, it still wouldn't let me e-file. A very frustrating experience--definitely not worth the price for all the headaches I experienced.
What's not so great: Bugs in One form (1099 DIV and Schedule B) caused me to have to file by mail. It wouldn't ever clear the problems

2012 taxes

While I think the cost to purchase TurboTax is a bit high each year I keep buying it. It makes filing my return so easy. There's no need for me to stay abreast of all the changes in tax laws...TT knows them all for me. All I have to do is answer the questions and enter the numbers....yeah - I'm done!
What's great about it: simple, easy questions, help available, don't need a calculator
What's not so great: cost to purchase each year

Please, Please provide a tab that will allow us EASY access
to our calculation of 2013 Estimated Taxes (also provide in
future versions of TurboTax). It is very difficult to find this once
it has been calculated. It is also very difficult to find where this
SHOULD be calculated in the existing version of TurboTax
since I don't have any W4 I would not think to look under this
category to estimate my 2013 Estimated Taxes.
