I PURCHASE TURBO TAX EVERY YEAR AND LOVE IT. IT IS DETAILED, BUT I WOULD LIKE MORE EXPLANATIONS ON SOME ITEMS.
What's great about it: STEP BY STEP GUIDES
What's not so great: MORE SAMPLE Q & A'S

I will use Turbo Tax every year and the features do improve.
The costs on the Cons is about the state fees that I don't think they have control of as much but it would be nice to know ahead of time.

What's not so great: fees keep going up each year for state filing. Would like to know ahead of time instead of waiting till you later

TurboTax - Still the Best!

I have been using TurboTax since it was MacInTax many years ago. I think this product is the best on the market. Easy to use, walks you through everything step-by-step for a thorough and complete process, represents the latest tax laws, includes audit defense, allows you to contribute to an IRA during the preparation process, etc. I can't say enough good things about TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough, secure, complete
What's not so great: None

Great... Year after Year!

I've been using TurboTax for several years now. The interface is very user friendly and makes filing taxes simple. I really like the fact that TurboTax imports my previous year's information, which makes filing all the more efficient. Simple and efficient... I like it that way.
What's great about it: Makes filing taxes simple. Walks me through the process step by step.
What's not so great: None for me.

much easier to use

Typing in the personal information all over again every year was cumbersome. TurboTax couldn't/wouldn't import the information from my computer. It kept prompting me for a username and password. Otherwise, it was ok.
What's great about it: progress report as you entered your data
What's not so great: unable to import personal infromation from last year's return

Liked the step by step approach. At no time did I get overwhelmed. I liked Turbo tax inputting my last year information in. It took less time to key and finish the return.
