Turbo Tax

I can't imagine it being easier. I really like being able to import all my stock sales from my broker. That would be a real pain if I had to enter them manually. There is a check to detect any errors and you are able to correct them on the spot!
What's great about it: Leads you through each step. Lots of help. Import stock sales.
What's not so great: None

This year seemed to be even easier than last. There should be more explanation about the difference in 401k and IRA. I found the answer but it took a short search.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Section for 401k and IRA is a little confusing

Better than last year's

Example of Cons:
in foreign taxes paid, first pass I was given the 2 financial institutions (A & B) I got 1099 DIV from; but I had multiple various countries, and France.
Once I entered Various for A, when I wanted to add France to A, the SW only gave me B as a choice.
What's great about it: Fairly intuitive
What's not so great: Once you entered a choice, back doesn't always undo choice

That Was Easy!

Like my title says... it is easy to use and the program pulls key information from last year's return to populate this year's return. That makes it fast and easy to file your return plus it saves time pounding the keyboard to reenter a lot of the same information like: names, addresses, employers, income sources, investments, itemized deductions, and other various deductions/credits. Then, TurboTax checks your return for erors and audit risks. Finally, I like the free E-File. PS, I prepared and submitted my return this year in less than two hours. TurboTax is a real bargan and I will choose it again next year!
What's great about it: Easy again...It imports info from past returns to simplify filing
What's not so great: Didn't care for the pop-ups to market extra services for fee

Easy Peasy

The simple, screen by screen guidance is very appreciated. TurboTax does a great job of concisely explaining the purpose behind certain questions that are posed. The ease of preparing a state return after completing a federal return can't be beat. And with certain items, TurboTax gives a shout out, like with respect to moving expenses, you get a 'Congrats on the new job' fist bump :) While many items have an "Explain this" link next to them, some don't and that causes just a bit of hesitation.
What's great about it: Step by step guidance and fun encouragement along the way
What's not so great: Some suggestions lack "Explain this" link

Turbo 2012
on April 14, 2013

When I started my return I mistakenly imported the wrong 2011 tax return. I did not realize this until 6 hours later and a completed return. (I woke up to the problem after I printed the return for review.) There was no way to back out the import and import the correct one, so I had to start a new return...bummer.
The 2nd problem is I needed to submit a 1310 with this return and I ran into two problems: 1) It was very hard to figure out how to include a 1310 form. 2) Even though I completed the form TurboTax did not include it with my return. This was very frustrating.
What's great about it: Good flow
What's not so great: No way to correct import, Did not submit my 1310
