Software Errors

The error that I received has come up for many people and no solution is available at the TT site or its forums. The error code indicates an identity issue; however, I believe that the format of the transmitted file is in error.
Error Code: IND-031 with tag that indicates that the metafile is structured incorrectly.
So I have now installed it on Vista; however, I am still using my original return generated on my desktop. We shall see tf the change is effective.

What's great about it: The tax detail to complete the return definitely simplifies matters
What's not so great: however, my primary desktop uses W8x64 and I have been unable to file my completed return
Pros: I moved, My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I am glad that my father introduced me to the Turbo tax system. It has enabled me to be able to do my taxes myself.

This year is the first time in years that Turbotax confused me at times. I had some direct rollovers from 401K accounts to a traditional IRA, so there was no tax liability. However, on the income review sheet, it showed this rollover as income. This is my money and always was my money, so it was not income. It did show up correctly on the tax form and my adjusted income was correct.
I am worried that I didn't do the HSA information correctly. Both my wife's employer and she contributed to the HSA. It seems like there should have been a place to note how much she contributed. I finally determined that it was accounted for on her W2 because her part reduced her gross income, but it would have been nice if TT had described that in a help screen.
Other than that, TurboTax was once again a big help with filing my taxes and much less expensive than hiring somebody. Thanks.
