TurboTax ... You Saved Me!

Filing taxes is a nightmare and it is obvious that no politicians do their own taxes otherwise they would change this craze system. But given the many flaws in the system and the ridiculous amount of time it takes to complete taxes every year (an amount of time that just grows every year), TurboTax makes the process understandable and manageable. I have used TurboTax for the past 10 years. Without TurboTax, I may have moved to Canada by now. Thank you for making the absurd doable.

Best comprehensive tax software

This is the best available software for tax prep where you can experiment with different scenarios to get the best possible result. The IRS (believe it or not) wants you to get the best tax return possible. It's just that they wont tell you how to get there. And with the IRS Code (Title 26) being so complicated, even some tax accountants don't know it all. With Turbo Tax, you have a wealth of information that had to have been compiled by numerous tax pros. I know this, because I am an attorney, have settled tax debt for clients and have been doing my own taxes for many years after firing a number of accountants that did not understand parts of the code that where relevant to me.
The bottom line is that this software was put together and is supported by experts in the various areas of the tax code.
Great stuff!
What's great about it: Entering information is simply. Experiment with different scenarios to get the best possible result.
What's not so great: Somewhat restrictive in some areas.

Good Product

I mostly like Turbo Tax, but I find it frustrating at times. This year I found too many pop up notes about the progress on my refund. I had notes about my anticipated refund right after entering my first W-2. This I found distracting and slowed down my progress on my preparation. Otherwise I thought it was a thorough review for tax preparation
What's great about it: Gives me questions and answers to catch deductions I thought I couldn't take
What's not so great: spent a lot of time scrolling to a continue button

My great refund

I have used Turbo Tax for years. It is a thoroughly good software that can answer your questions with a real person on line or through a chat room. Once you have used this software, you will never try another tax software again.
What's great about it: Very easy to go thru the steps. Gives helpful hints in explaining certain forms too

Liked everything except, the instructions on how to transfer
the updates, and get state taxes. I wouldn't transfer on the
windows after putting TTAX on download, I finally found it on
the main menu to transfer, then it did. Take off the others
in the windows on the program , it's misleading....
